Probably more for the Brits, the comedian Jeremy Hardy has died:

Always liked his dry humour, will miss that.

Sad news indeed, didn't agree with his politics (most of the time), but he was very funny.

Must listen to " A Brief History of Time wasting" on the way home tonight.
I'm not dead, I just don't post very often anymore.

Jeremy Hardy was a man of brilliant intellect - his sort are few and far between..
he will be sadly missed by a great many people - he was a man of great humanity..
unassuming, thoughtful and deeply passionate about his political beliefs..
the world is a slightly darker place with his passing, though he left us a legacy that will stand the test of time..

Albert Finney, actor, has died. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-47175304

I remember him from lots of things, probably most recent (not very recent) was the Coens' Miller's Crossing.

He did a rather...shall we say memorable, but for the wrong reasons?--Poirot in one version of "Murder on the Orient Express". Don't get me wrong, he totally looked the part, but I have no idea where his accent came from!

We should put a stop to this whole "death" thing. It's terribly depressing and doesn't really appear to do much that's beneficial. I suppose it helps reduce overpopulation, but we could certainly figure out some better way that all this "dying" stuff. Make it optional, I say!

One day we will. But, only if we live long enough to do so...

You keep my telomeres out of this! They regenerate just fine... They're trying, at least! Not their fault... Being a telomere is a tough job!

Few days late, missed this one at the time:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-47214103

John Haynes, the guy who came up with the concept for the car repair manuals used by many a Brit trying to save money, has died.
