Glasshopper say the sky is the hole you are falling into.. you are fool to think gravity no longer important..
- once you place allegiance to your President above the law - you are doomed to fall..

- Chuck Grassley has no legal experience at all in his resume for the office he holds - how is this so?
- Kavanaugh is utterly prejudiced and must be removed from the Supreme Court with haste..
- if the Republican Party had the guts to admit their treacherous dereliction of duty, under McConnell and his cronies, we might see progress..

- my oh my, what a shambles these Replicants have wrought..!!

As if we already didn't know that having the foxes guarding the henhouse isn't going to amount to much but piles of feathers:

FBI admits White House limited Kavenaugh probe

And Trump's Op-Ed in USA Today shows the prevailing Republican election tactic of "Say anything no matter how wildly inaccurate and expect the electorate to buy into it if it makes the Democrats look bad".

Trump USA Today op-ed

And (Of course) any fact check on it blows holes in it:

Washington Post Fact Checks Trump Op-Ed

It should be a new definition of "exercise in futility" to go through the trouble of fact checking Trump. Just listen to what Trump says and take it for granted it's about as far from truth as it gets and leave it at that. Or as we've come to learn, you know Trump's lying if his mouth is moving.

Disclaimer: (The following is Satire)

Trump: "How awsome is that Hurricane Michael? Nobody can produce hurricanes like the United States of America! As President I can assure you that Bigger and Better hurracanes made in the USA are on their way! I've signed an exective order to increase industrial output, increase carbon emissions, deregulate environmental statutes that will assure that the United States produces the greatest hurricanes on earth!"

You say satire but didn't Trump actually say something like that last year, where he said America has the best storms or something along those lines, Not had much sleep so I could just be imagining it, but it is the sort of thing he would say.

Yeah when he droned on about the hurricane that hit the Carolinas this year. Thankfully this time he didn't have any issues that he had to divert the news cycle from, he had his op-ed nonsense to keep the media focused on him and is no doubt PO'd that this time the hurricane diverted from him. Turn about is fair play I suppose. In a sad way, but since Florida, Georgia and the Carolina's are pretty much "red states" and the severity of Michael really doesn't play well to climate change denial he's not tossing it out as an issue. And he's probably more concerned on how to get his buddies in Russia and China to turn the midterm elections around to really concentrate on a little thing like devastation in states the Republicans already have in their pockets.

USA Today is getting a bunch of flack for Trump's Op-Ed in regards to "fact checking." Reputable news outlets are supposed to fact-check even their Op-Ed pieces, even if they're a guest Op-Ed.

I suppose the had one choice, print it as is or not print it because Trump would go ballistic if they disputed his "alternate facts" and put them in the "enemy of the people" category. So they closed their eyes, swallowed their journalistic integrity and just printed it.

I don't remember which article it was, but it may have been a statement by the Times that read something like "We get Op-Ed submissions from famous people all of the time and we refuse them all the time, too. We fact-check our Op-Eds." Then, several examples were given regarding op-ed pieces by past Presidents like Obama, who even had his piece fact-checked before it was printed.

@ BugMeister:

When they start chasing McConnell around with torches and pitchforks maybe it's because he's created a monster.

Meanwhile back at the Oval Office Trump gets a taste of his own medicine as Kanye West treats him to a rant he gives even Trump a WTF moment:

West ward Ho?

So West had the MAGA hat on and it's got me wondering, what does make America great again really mean, I mean it insinuates that America is not great right now, in a way it's a pretty anti American thing to say as they are saying America sucks. If it's not great right now just what is so wrong with it and what is Trump actually doing to make it great again.

felter wants to know:
So West had the MAGA hat on and it's got me wondering, what does make America great again really mean?
Well West hasn't realized (obviously) it means "Make America White Again", but they couldn't exactly come out and SAY it outright. It played to those during the 2016 elections that were scared of Obama because he was black, scared of Hillary because she was a she and wanted a return to the days when white men stood on the top of the heap and made pronouncements to the rest of the world from that position. Now Trump had ZIP to do with that outlook. That's made clear in Woodward's book "Fear" and pretty much on record from his champain. That came from Steve Bannon as it was basically Breitbart's mantra. Where the only bad whites were liberals. So it really means "Turn back the clock to when the world was run by white guys".
Just look at the crowds at his "rallys" and you'll get the picture.

- there are hundreds of recorded instances where Trump ( and his family) have vehemently run down the USA - using some pretty bad language, at times..
- he, like Farage (- another empty-headed idiot..) ran his whole campaign on how the USA was so bad, that he was the only solution..
- his son has also frequently gone off on an anti-USA rant.. with his usual badda-bing stupid attitude..

- these useless people cannot justify their actions without painting the whole world black- otherwise their whole stupid raison-d'etre falls apart..
- these lunatics are on a crusade against democratic freedom in the USA, they favour a Replicant police-state with the corporate/oligarchs in complete control..
- they have installed Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court solely to further their ultimate fascistic aim - to place the President above the law..
- corruption is rife in the Trump administration - they can only succeed by bringing the USA down to their own criminal gutter-level

Kanye's an idgit.

(Eegit, eedgit? :) )

He's got "issues." The guy is not the sort of spokesperson anyone would want to have. Sure, they'd like the publicity, but then he gets on camera and starts talking...

WTF was he doing in the White House today, anyway? I turned on the news and there's Kanye, talking some almost-religious-experience-nonsense about wearing a hat, then jabbering about some plane or something and then talking about his mental problems and therapy or some such? I don't know the particular order as I was a bit busy, but he seemed like someone with a few too many cups of coffee under their belt and not enough oars in the water. :)

Kanye seems out of his mind, medically.

Is it okay to make fun of a sick person? Or he is not sick and just crazy?

And this surprises you? Much like the little incident in the Russian elections where the lady moved the balloons to hide ballot stuffing from the cameras, Those who own the process own the elections. Kemp's just not savvy enough... No that's wrong, he probably doesn't care enough to cover his tracks. It plays all to well with enough of the majority in the state to get him elected governor just on the basis of them knowing he's keeping minorities out on the election process. And no doubt Georgia's servers will get wiped again and more quickly after the midterms than they were after the general elections.

I have no doubt that the manipulation of the ballot will only be worse this election, but be reported as valid OR what manipulations were independently found, underplayed by authorities such as the FBI and DHS because the results will be slanted towards keeping the House and Senate in the hands of the Republican majority. Saying there was manipulations by foreign or domestic actors would be shooting themselves in the foot.

Expect surprising results in the midterm that will get plenty of play in the media and a whitewash job by officials. Just keep in mind what I said; "Those that own the process own the elections".

And in deference to what Masterbagger might think, the Republicans are the ones who play to their base with the race and misogyny cards as if any of the rally speeches didn't point out. And now the Republican's new tack of calling liberals "Angry Mobs" is simply twisting the truth backward and painting them with the Republican's own brush. Which shouldn't surprise anyone familiar with the works of George Orwell. Angry militant mobs are the natural progression when both sides whip up their supporters, it's just that the Democrats were slow to figure this out and the Republicans were there with their rhetoric ready for it hoping that enough of their base would gobble it up to offset the Democrats ralling up and heating up their own base. Just pot calling kettle black (if you will) but it tends to work.

And lets face facts: Do you REALLY expect the likes of Donald Trump or Mitch McConnell to string together ANY cogent or coherent arguments that would rally the Republican base? Just not happening. Because their base immediately reject it or it would fly right over their heads. They want people and things to hate. It's no longer what they stand FOR but what they stand AGAINST that defines them.

So expect things to get worse and expect "Free and fair elections" to be anything but. That's a thing of the past.

Who are you talking about? The Republicans or the Democrats? They both look the same to me.

There is no difference between Republican and Democratic hatred and irrationality. It's like a religion. Blind unquestioning faith in the party-line and hatred of anyone who doesn't subscribe to the accepted doctrine.
