"AMD equivalent"

Processor: Intel i5-4590 2.7GHz or AMD equivalent
Graphics: Nvidia GTX 780/970 or AMD equivalent (Vulkan support required)

Processor: Intel Core i7-6700K or AMD equivalent
Graphics: Nvidia GTX 1070 or AMD equivalent (Vulkan support required)

For non techy People: what are those AMD equivalents?
I have an Ryzen 2600 and a RX580-8G. Is this equivalent?

As I don't know, I'd (guessing) check CPU benchmark for those processors, then find a comparable performing AMD one (from their latest line? Dunno).

Also note that today CBJ advised that the minimum specs required were probably about right, but the recommended will almost certainly change [in some unspecified way/direction] by the release date and once further testing has been done. (Both game performance and Vulkan graphics performance will be factors.)

Oh nice, I got worried there for a second. According to this website:

Minimum AMD specs for X4 Foundations are:
- CPU: Ryzen 5 2500X
- GPU: RX 570-4G or 480-4G

Recommended (currently):
- CPU: Ryzen 7 2600* or 2700X**
- GPU: RX Vega 56

* Higher overall but single core performance then i7-6700K

On a sidenote, if you do end up getting a recent AMD video card, read up on what undervolting can do to it. Basically reduced power consumption and temperatures, more consistent clock speeds, increased performance (and not by a little bit either).
With regards to the CPU, I'm not sure if there's any true 6700k equivalent from AMD, given how high intel's chips clock. Here's hoping for ryzen 2's improved manufacturing process allowing 5ghz clock speeds on air cooling
