GOG Release Planned?
Hello, I tried using the Search Function to see if I asked this already but don't think I did or maybe I'm blind. Are there talks of maybe a GOG release coming out on day one?
I couldn't find a specific answer on this either. However there was an answer to a slightly different question which probably applies to GOG too.
In the case of GOG the pattern for XR was that we did release on GOG but not on day one.The FAQ sticky thread wrote:Will there be a box with CD release of the game? Even if I have to order it online and have it delivered, I'd rather have a CD with the full game.
Too early to say for certain but I would expect a similar release to XR, with boxed versions and through an online platform. Keep in mind that there is a NoSteam EXE for XR.

Not sure, but this is the last time this was discussed.Doomdog19 wrote:Hello, I tried using the Search Function to see if I asked this already but don't think I did or maybe I'm blind.
Especially in days where releases on Steam are drowned in asset flips and shovelware, GoG actually affords some visibility to prominent releases like this. Exactly why a lot of indie devs have abandoned PC in favour of the Switch.MrFiction wrote:I only buy games without DRM, so Steam exclusives are a no buy for me.
The Witcher 3 has taught us that a customer centric, DRM free, day one, GoG release can be highly profitable for the software company!
Turns out curating your store and not endorsing edgelord trash might actually be a viable business model!
This is quickly heading down the route of discussing copy protection, which invariably ends up with someone incriminating themselves. The OP's question has been answered as well as it can be for now, and we don't need another 200 page thread about Steam, so I'm going to lock it now as a preemptive measure.
