Joubarbe,

Loving the new updates, things are working great and I'm making headway with logistics and building ship / equipment. I do have one request for docks - would it be possible to have another setting for source of goods that pulls from all relevant sanctuaries? I think you can use the freighter command, but I don't see that as an option anymore.

I'm trying to figure out how to handle ship outfitting - I have six stations producing missiles and lasers, but setting couriers or dock agent commands for every possible source seems like it could get a bit messy. I'd welcome any thoughts on how to handle that.

Freighters won't help you. They only accept one source, same as the new DAs.

Six stations producing lasers and missiles? That seems a lot... Except micro managing and waste your sanity in configuring your DAs, I don't really have any advice :)

You'd need a bunch of them to make an endless supply of missiles for your carrier based fleets. :P

The variety of lasers/shields/misssiles needed is not so much to complain about it's configuration. imho. Even 10 of them, is not disturbing thing. For other wares there is presets system implemented before.

Here is some basic rules I made running over then 25 sectors, which would probably help understending and managing your logistics:
1. There must be hub sector, where goods are delivering and acquiring from.
2. Each sector deliver goods to hub and acquire from it by itself. Don't do that sh... with ur hub jobs.
3. No sell jobs in ur sectors - deliver all to ur hub, and sell them from there. No buy jobs - acquire all from ur hub. Sectors only run internal diliver/acquire jobs and jobs related to hub.
4. Try to specialize ur sectors (argnu/cahoona, teladianium, bio/bofu etc.).
5. Don't max ur acquire jobs theresolds (important!). If maxed - it will overstock you ship cargobay if you have good production surplus, and will prevent this ships running other jobs properly.
6. Always set timeouts for internal jobs. This would dramatically reduce cargoships needed per sector.

This rules will allow you easy control your money and wares flow with ur hub. If you configured you sectors well you will need no more then 5 Snotras per sector (except ore/silicon specialized sectors maybe, where you will want to max asteroids yeld). And btw, as far as I noticed there is no need making more then 1000 yeld asteroids, cuz there will not any production surplus. Maybe someone know exact efficient yeld.

Here's how you set up a supply train from multiple sanctuaries:

You have 5 sanctuaries making missiles. Call them 1,2,3,4 and 5.
Sanctuary 2 has freighter settings to pick up the missiles from sanctuary 1, with overstock.
Sanctuary 3 has freighter settings to pick up the missiles from sanctuary 2, with overstock.
Sanctuary 4 has freighter settings to pick up the missiles from sanctuary 3, with overstock.
Sanctuary 5 has freighter settings to pick up the missiles from sanctuary 4, with overstock.

And now you have a supply train that concentrates all missiles in sanctuary 5.

That's the idea, but with DA, because there are no freighters anymore in Mayhem.

I have a similar setup. With hub in the middle responsible for most of logistics, running.
I, however, use only 3 advanced demeters per non-hub sector, and that's enough to even keep ship production running.
Snotras I have 9 in total as couriers to for Solar Power Plants and Mines.
7 Power Plants in Z Alpha with 400% sun is more than enough for now.

I've seen your save and i think Snotras as DAs are overkill.

@Sirrobert

You can gather all missiles, lasers and shields with just one courier. The way menu works allows to expand it very easily.

I don't want to care about killed ships, I want to set DA and forget about it, so I choose Snotra for it's speed and survival. Mb you are right and it's overkill, but with my credit income I don't care. For same reason I don't use couriers. If it killed, then you need to set up new. While in battle you can forget about it. With DA system killed DA job will be done by another DA.

I have noticed at least couple of times a Teladi miner ship with Pirate escort. When my patrol ship attacked the pirates, miner also became hostile, resulting in loss of reputation.

Unsure if that is LU or Mayhem.
Unsure wether it happens only with Teladi.
If it's not only Teladi, then could it be the reason why patrol ships' friend-foe settings occasionally get all mixed up?

Lot of miners are pirates in cover. I never managed to uncover everyone. Another silly thing from Jobs. (and this idea of covered pirates.......)

Let's talk about QJE.
My universe is out of blue crystals. So for every ship i board or claim, i need to build an M5 in a sanctuary with free QJE perk, transfer it and recycle the M5.
I was messing around with Menu.DWM.UpgradeShips.SM.xml

do if $sanctuary-> call script 'Mayhem.IsPerkUnlocked' : perk='All ships equiped with Quantum jumpgate extension'
   dim $cost = 0, 0, 0, 0, 0
I can stick a crutch like this in ship upgrade and template outfit menus for myself.

But since there is workaround, I request such feature.

I'm trying to install mayhem 2.3.7 on linux. When I install the data scanner on my ship betty only says 'Installed', probably because she can't find the data scanner audio file.
In which file is it? in soundtrack/08404.mp3?

I already re-encoded this file in ogg vorbis format.
I can hear the sound when I install other equipments from LU.
Any help is appreciated.

Firstly, I am mining. But with 0,13% chance of blue crystal, you need more mining ships than the whole universe has, which is stupid.

Secondly, "All ships equiped with Quantum jumpgate extension" literally means "Free QJE".

Thirdly, there is a workaround, so adding this feature will change nothing, except remove a tedious task.

I personally find use of crystals very inconsistent.
- You get basic equipment for free when you build ship, but you have to pay crystals to install it on existing ship.
- They cannot be recycled, like lasers, missiles and shields. And they should not be, because they are much more expensive than equipment.
- Again, there is stupid workaround, you can just order your supply ship to outfit existing ship using credits, or transfer that equipment from freshly built M5.

So, i think, that not only QJE in sanctuaries with perk, but also basic equipment that comes with every built ship, should be free.

And i know i make at least some sense, because there is a disabled button "Install default equipment", so Joubarbe thought about it as well.

Hello new to Mayhem...quick question.

How do you mine? I have a Caiman Mining Ship. 4 Mining lasers on it with ore collector and mineral scanner but when I approach an asteroid the lasers are grayed out and they do nothing. I'm 2km from the asteroid it's scanned and everything.

Also please make the starting station and research facility further apart. They start out so close things get clogged up and you lose ships crashing into each other. VERY annoying.

Hi guys. I'm definitely not a newborn on x3lu universe, but i just recently decide to try this mod. Looks so promising! Anyway, i have a few questions that i can't clarify after reading the encyclopedia ingame.

1. Is there a command so i can set a NPC to do the blueprint scans for me?The fact that i have to scan every single ship of the game kinda bothered me.

2. I read here on patch notes that MK3 and QJE are removed from npc stations. So, where can i find them now? I have a trade playstyle, and not be able to use UT's would be a critical hit for me.

No, you can only scan manually. And why would you want to scan every ship? You just need one ship of each type, so around 15 in total.

Wow, first time playing. I have not taken ANY sectors. OCV rolled in a wiped me out.

They seem way OP to me. I haven't even been able to build a fleet yet and they destroyed everything I have the first time in.

They are so fast that the starter ship is useless against them. I really don't know how you people do this considering the difficulty of OCV. They seem 2x power powerful than anything I've been able to build/scavenge so far.
