How does one keep asteroids from respawning?
I keep destroying junk asteroids in a few of my sectors, and new junk asteroids keep respawning. Is there a way to prevent this?

Put a mine on them and then self destruct.
However, there is no such thing as a "junk" asteroid. If nothing else you can stick a mine on them and use them as a storage facility/transport hub.

Info
When you self-destruct a mine, the gray outline stays for about a game day. Then it fades away. It is a navigation hazard for that day. Any ship making contact with it is damaged or destroyed.

I had thought problem solved, but no matter what I do asteroids keep reappearing in the player sector (Morning Star in my game). I have gone through two rounds of buildind mines on all the crappy ones and self destructing them, only to have them reappear. I used scripts to destruct them. I've used missiles. I'm at my wits end.

Maybe just build the mines and tow them out to the boonies and leave them?

Heh - I just had the exact same thought as Tim, but he had already thought of it - not a perfect solution, but at least you can clear the area that you want to. Unfortunately, it means more clutter on your property list (can be mitigated by plexing those mines together, though)

Or tie them into a complex and turn the whole thing into a useful mine.Timsup2nothin wrote:Maybe just build the mines and tow them out to the boonies and leave them?
