I was wondering if campaign mode gives you access to everything available in the other modes, since most of those weren't available at launch. I don't mean right away; but eventually, can you gain access to every system, every ship, every station, every resource, etc, if you play in campaign mode?

There's one small exception: in Teladi Outpost, there is a small series of missions that you can't do with any other start, they are mutually exclusive. Given that the plot start gives you everything else, if you are after quantity that's the way to go (and, in my opinion, you get more quality in a plot game, too.)

if you refer to the rising tide Missions: there is no check in the mission script if it is a plot or freeplay game, so it should be availabe on all gamestarts. also it seems to be repeatable.

Oh, that's good to know, and I stand (well, sit, actually) corrected Smile I guess then the only thing that is excluded is the Teladi Outpost initial sequence (comms and stuff), but that's totally unimportant (imo.)

@OP: Campaign (eventually) gives more NPC/player assets available than freeplay

(1 unique player station, 4 DV stations including a limited shipyard & 1 NPC station swaps faction allegiance)

with the limitation that you're locked to doing certain stages in order. The DLCs break this last somewhat but only after the first Campaign gate jump; other than that (& towards endgame) they're pretty much identical WRT assets & generic missions available (with the minor caveat mentioned above)

There's a glitch with one late semi-generic OL mission which is fixed in current (v4.10) public beta, but it's pretty trivial & doesn't currently gain you much WRT content IME (but there's room for expansion there)
