You can upgrade the ship when you dock on stations and talk to a mechanics. The cockpit change indeed feels like a different ship. I like the combat setup most.

The game is good, you won't regret getting it - at least there is nothing else like this on Steam.

Actually there are 4 Cockpits.

1. the Standard one

2. a Builder Style CP

3. a Trader Style CP

4. the already named Combat CP


I personally prefer the Standard or the Builder CP... it is not like i did not like the big Bluescreen when starting from a Station but.. well... i do not like it.

I use the standard and sometimes the Trader. I find the BsoD one a proof of why see-through screens are a bad idea. It's distracting when I'm trying to look at the map and I see all the engine lights or stars moving around.
