Has X4 been announced? I'm desperate for a new, deep space sim

Why is egosoft still f**king around with x:stillbirth? This thing was DOA, whats it gonna take for them to move on? If they could make something half as good with the DEPTH(THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT) of x3, people would lose their shit with the plethora of disappointing space sims in the last few years. I was watching x:rebirth since its announcement but never bought it because they went full retard in their decision making process. Are we capable of learning? Stop spinning your wheels!
