[X3LU] Ship gallery (WIP)
**Reserved for inspirational intro**
These images are rendered via 3dsMax so there are some differences compared to ingame appearance (I have no idea how to add compiled game shaders to Max). Also orthographic projection adds some distortion but it is necessary for correct comparison.
Gallery: M1, M2, M7, M6, M3
Dimension comparison (by name): M1, M2, М7, M6, M3
Dimension comparison (by length): M1, M2, М7, M6, M3
Feel free to add here your own screenshots, renders, etc.
Feel free to use my renders in your own way without personal permission sealed with royal seal.

Very cool. It's amazing how big the seize difference is on some of those Destroyers
I do have 1 request: Could you sort the legend under the seize comparisons by number, instead of alphabetically?
I'm trying to determine what the smallest M7 is (for example), and it's quite the pain to try to find nr 38 in a seemingly random ordering of numbers

9 out of 10 voices in my head say I'm crazy. The 10th is singing the music from Tetris

Already have such requests. Alphabetical order is very handy if you are looking for size of the specified ship. Maybe I should add copies where legend is sorted by ship size.

Nice work! Now I'm only waiting for a size comparison over all classes. I remember you promised such an overview with the smallest and biggest ship of each class in one picture.
I noticed some spelling errors:
- Teladi and Pirate (Heavy) Osprey (M6): It is spelled Osprey (instead of Ospray on your images)
- The OTAS Astraeus (M2) is spelled with an additional 'a'
- The Paranid Agamemnon is spelled this way, not Agememnon

Yea I asked for that as wellBlackArchon wrote:Nice work! Now I'm only waiting for a size comparison over all classes. I remember you promised such an overview with the smallest and biggest ship of each class in one picture.
I love these images. Adding the cross section is also a nice touch. I had no idea pentatrons were so funky looking

Fixed reported errors. Unfortunately imgur is down right now.
Cross-class comparison looks attractive but at this moment I have no idea how to design it. Difference between biggest M2 and smallest M3 is too huge. It's like compare a planet with an ant.

You don't have to do it between every class type.
It's probably enough to add the biggest ship of the previous class onto it.
For example the m7 image would have the heavy osprey on the list somewhere.
And the m2 would have the thresher.
Admittedly this might break down between m1 and m2 due to the size of the dreadnaught class.

Some guy on Youtube has done this some time ago, and it is quite impressive: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKMWpPz2Q2kEl. wrote:Fixed reported errors. Unfortunately imgur is down right now.

I find shanrak's idea very appealing (although a picture with all ship classes would also be interesting, just to get a picture of the grand scalability of ships): For example the M6 comparison should also have the smallest and biggest M3 and the smallest and biggest M7 in it.
Can you also post a TL sheet, especially how they compare to other capital ships?

There is another option – I'll add a ruler to each table.
TL and M8 are in short list.

I can say that all these ships present in LU t-ships file. Their accessibility is another question.

Nice work, I've really enjoyed using this. Any chance you'll keep going?
It's like paradise, spread out with a butter knife.
