The manager should be able to edit the globals file from that mod. Alternatively, using the X3 Editor 2 you could either delete the mod's globals file from its cat/dat(s) or extract and modify it yourself.

Added to the addon folder and renamed as indicated but no luck, also tried the main X3 folder and no luck there either.

Any suggestions?

Did you download the correct file, the one for X3AP? You also need to rename the cat/dat pair before you copy it into your addon folder. Otherwise you will overwrite an existing cat/dat pair.

Hmm it could be that I did not rename it before moving it but it also did not overwrite anything on arrival. I'm in game at the mo but I will try that later on. Thanks, I'll keep you posted.

I am not very good with mods etc so I installed this with plugin manager I also extracted to main TC directory and renamed them to next available number but cant seem to find it in game, Any advice would be greatly appriciated

You don't have to use the plugin manager to install this.

If you have AP, you need to install both files in the x3\addon folder, not the main one.

... it seems that this mod hasnt been updated for years ...

here is an "update" for X3AP 3.1

if you want to install it easily, create a text file (name = "Globals.txt"), and paste the following code in it, save it
then create a folder named "types" in your installation directory in the "addon" folder, put Globals.txt in addon\types\ ... ready !! ;)

there are a bunch of other interesting values to "play" with ... e.g. scanner range, some value are in "game units": 500 game units = 1 meter

=> i only changed SG_MAX_DISTANCE_COMM from 25000 to 500000
