For XRM (TC) in the main TC folder...
01-13 EGOSOFT stuff
14 IE
15 IEX
16 XRM (1)
17 XRM (2)
18 XRMi

For XRM (AP) in the 'addon' folder...
01-04 EGOSOFT stuff
05 IE
06 IEX
07 XRM (1)
08 XRM (2)
09 XRMi
Does it have to be in that order? Can IE and IEX start at any other number?

I am working on a installer for XRM, so that info is needed.

It does need to be in the order described as each cat/dat may use or re-define stuff which has come before. If it's not done in the correct order then some bits might go somewhat 'wonky'...

The numbers however can change as long as the sequence is numerically upwards with no gaps.

Are IE and IEX the only mods where order is important (due their functionality), or are there others with such requirement?

I'm afraid not... it all depends upon which objects/T-files/textures etc. are used within each mod and which ones need to be replaced by a later cat/dat added by another mod so that it all works Ok. For example IEX uses stuff from IE but also replaces other elements, so placing them in reverse order would not yield the correct result. That's why say I've had to add the XRMi cat/dat after the XRM cat/files supplied by paul wheeler. Unless you are aware of what changes are involved then getting them into the correct order is essential so that the compatibility between them is achieved. In fact a lot of the effort in building mods is to ensure you don't cause unintended consequences and sometimes 'patches' like XRMi have to be created so that your mod sit can comfortably alongside other people's work.

I'm sorry if I missed the mention somewhere in the main post - will this mod (or required supporting mods) set the modified flag on my game in AP?

I'm getting back into AP but want to play it Vanilla. I miss these graphical tweaks.

I'm pretty sure that as you install IEX as a false patch and there's no scripts involved you won't get a modified flag... but no doubt someone more knowledgeable can confirm that or not.
I suppose you could always start and save a new game and see what it says?

Hey, any chance for a rehost of the gallery pictures on something like imgur.com? For some reason I cannot view imageshack pictures at all. :(

Plus it's plastered with ads.

It'll have to wait until after Easter but I'll have a look at it... :)

Is the problem with the images on the OP etc. or is it when you browse imageshack?

It's imageshack in general, sadly. I think it's because I'm having the ads blocked that they then don't show the pictures either. Maybe. :|

It has been brought to my attention that the X-Universe download location is no longer working... so I've moved the primary link to use 'BT Cloud' instead with 'Google Docs' as the secondary.

Download IEX 1.5a from here or here (316MB)

Please let me know of any other issues (I'm also going to review the screenshot location as well).

Moonrat wrote: INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

XRM (1.30.5a)
  • A small 'fake' patch is required to experience IEX with the latest version of XRM (1.30d), this is called XRMi and can be found here.

Unpack the zip file and then order the cat/dat files as follows:

For XRM (TC) in the main TC folder...
    • 01-13 EGOSOFT stuff
      14 IE
      15 IEX
      16 XRM (1)
      17 XRM (2)
      18 XRMi
For XRM (AP) in the 'addon' folder...
    • 01-04 EGOSOFT stuff
      05 IE
      06 IEX
      07 XRM (1)
      08 XRM (2)
      09 XRMi
NOTES : Any optional XRM packs but NOT the Backgrounds pack should come afterwards, these may however cause issues with IEX depending on their content.
    A new gamestart is recommended.
Terran Conflict Plots for Albion Prelude (TCAP)
  • A compatibility patch is required to use IEX with "Terran Conflict plots for Albion Prelude" ... This is currently TCAPiex 1.5a and can be found here.
Most of the content was created by dillpickle and so accordingly great credit should go to him for this. Please report any bugs
to either him or me via whichever thread seems most appropriate, thanks.

This small fake patch needs to be placed immediately after the TCAP cat/dat files from dillpickle.
Based upon the above, should my load order look like the following if I wanted to load XRM, IEX and TCAP?

I think you'll have a problem attempting the mix you have... XRM, IEX, TCAP (& the Advanced XRM universe) all have their own map files so depending on which order the cat/dats are, you may get issues. However the good news is that I believe that the latest XRM version has TCAP (more or less built in). This quote is from the XRM OP.
PLOTS - For Terran Conflict all the plots are available. For Albion Prelude, the main Argon plot is disabled as it is not compatible with the XRM replacement "war". However, all other plots are available. Also, the Corporation and Treasure Hunt plots from TC are playable in AP.
So stick with cat/dat 01-09 and it might give you what you want?

IEX 1.5b

Post by Moonrat » Mon, 28. Jul 14, 18:57

IEX 1.5b is now available. Please don't get too excited folks, it's just a minor bug fix for (new) vanilla TC games. AP, TCAP or XRM players need not worry, for now at least...

Thanks to HAUSMEiSTER.cnx for finding/fixing the bug and JSDD for the gentle nudge to do something about it. :)

As well as creating a new full IEX 1.5b version (316MB), which can downloaded from here or here, I have created a small hot fix which reflects the sole change between IEX 1.5a & IEX 1.5b

IEX 1.5b TC Map Hot Fix
  • For vanilla TC games only (ie. not XRM or TCAP), a small & simple hot fix may be applied using this file to avoid a full IEX 1.5b download.
Unpack the map file and place it in the '\maps' folder for TC. Please note that this should only be done for vanilla TC games only (not AP or XRM/TCAP).

Hi any idea why my game starts lagging when my projectiles(EMPC) hits a target?

Thanks

XRM 1.30b iex 1.5a

Post by Welingen » Tue, 28. Oct 14, 13:45

Hello,

I have downloaded the latest version of IEX 1.5b and IE 1.1 + last XRM 1.30d + XRMi and i noticed on the main menu screen it states XRM 1.30b - IEX 1.5a.

Is it just a text Bug or i forgot something on my new install ?

Thanks

I know it's probably too late in the mod's lifespan to ask this, but is there any way to tweak this mod so that Akeela's Beacon (and only Akeela's Beacon) uses the Vanilla Background & Sun level?

It just seems so strange to me that you decided to not only make the Sunniest sector in the game so dimly lit, but moved the Suns so that the SPPs are facing the wrong direction.

As the front of a certain book might say "Don't Panic" ...

You have probably installed the mods OK ... the only difference between IEX 1.5a and IEX 1.5b was this for the TC map.
  • Fix : Gate between Desecrated Skies & Moo-Kye's Revenge now exists

There is no impact for XRM users such as yourself. Both the TC & AP XRMi maps over-write the map file containing this IEX 15.b change. You are correct in that games using the latest version of XRMi will result in the main menu screen falsely reporting "XRM 1.30b - IEX 1.5a" when perhaps it should really read "XRM 1.30d - IEX 1.5b" but this is purely a cosmetic thing...

I have thought about updating the main menu screens but I have rather enjoyed watching the MediaFire counter continue to climb to almost 1,500 downloads in one year!! :o

If I get around to creating new content for IEX then I might fix it then, or alternatively when the XRM main mod brings about a map change which I have to reflect in a new version of XRMi.
