[MOD] Show Me Your Faction Please

Done By a small request. This mod adds faction icons to the comms list so you can see whose licenses you are about to buy. Available from SteamWorkshop

Very nice stuff. Out of interest, what did you use for debugging? I've been dabbling in UI modding as well but I can't get it to report any errors - makes it very hard to actually fix anything.

UI fails (ie blank screen) leave traces in debug.log file which can give clues as to what you did wrong.

It occurred to me that if it was possible and of interest, an additional column listing the name of the NPC's station (or "???" as appropriate) could be handy.

I got the idea while using the TAF! mod but maybe there are other uses. If not, that alone is probably not worth the effort involved.

Hm, will think of that tomorrow, a little too tired now..
as for the debugging, there is a method called DebugError(), if you just want to print out some debug strings, tables and such have to be converted to strings though

Until 3.1, your mod worked as a charm. (thanks a lot by the way, it really adds to immersion)
But unfortunately, since the 3.2 update, a bug has appeared.

Description
I can no longer remotely communicate with ship traders.

Steps I reproduced
- only this mod is active
- new game start as trader (omicron, devoid clime, keen chant)
- fly to zone eternal dawn

Choice a) open remote communication with capital ship trader (F1, 5, 6, 1)
Consequence the game becomes partially unresponsive.

Thanks for the info, also nice report, makes the modders life easier :) although only thing I now did to update was the same procedure as every time with this mod... decompile the original script and run a diff to my version. everything that is different and is not part of my modification of the original menu is changed to the new version.

it should be fixed now :)

i think this mod is indispensable, so i quickly updated it to be compatible with XR 4.3. Should work with latest XRVR as well.

Note: i placed it in a separate directory so as to leave the original mod folder undisturbed. You should be able to just extract the download into your extensions folder and deactivate the original mod using the in-game Extensions menu.

Thanks to w.evans for posting the fix here, I finally got time to fix my pc and update the mod at the workshop
