They won't... sorry for the misunderstand...

If I may make a paralele between XR and my other loving simulation, it's now called the DCS serie... they made a new engine and implement every single player-pilotable aircraft a single opus (for sell of course) implementable in the original opus... I know that creating a flight model for an aircraft is very much complicated than would be ships in rebirth but it's a possibility that Ego will implement player flyable ships out with a full opus apart of the original XR...

To be clear about my last post, I can't wait to buy a lot of these M trading ships for filling my stations and let the capital ones do big trade runs under my control...

I think is a very good and very simple idea for the developpers.
Look at the side of the game Arma3. They have a lot of control divided into several vertical menus accessible by keys 1, 2, 3... 0

But it is actually very far from the initial desire of Egosoft, ie a game can only be played with a pad ...

There already is a flight model for everything in the game...
Only speed, manueverability, weaponry, and mass are different, but those are just numbers...
What is missing are the supporting mechanics. Turret control, cockpit, interior, docking, trading, drones, hitboxes... Those are missing.

This sounds very logical.

Also, fighters actually don't have modules. It's just one object.
The weapons are in the ship, it's one package.
Just like Balor's torpedo launchers, or Sucullus's IHC cannons, they are part of the ship and come together with the ship, you cannot decide if you want them or don't.
It's a shame as they could be missing a great opportunity to expand the economy further that could free up space for more trading amongst freighters.

Plus the thought of 100's/1000's of Mechanics across the known Universe waiting for you to come along so you will trade with them sounds a little silly; there needs to be a purpose for them not to revolve around the Skunk.
Like Engineers repair ships but you would expect them, when your not around to get a job on somebodies freighter in imaginative terms rather than just spawning for you as reality.
No ship but the Skunk can use the Mechanic, so where are they getting their business from?

There is an extreme testing stage with this patch, so many things included deserve the extra time, and devs effort to make things stable.

And better skunk indoors xd It should be way more cozy IMO.

I have a lot of faith in the team so I'm ok if I have to wait more months to play it.

Well you have point there ;)
I haven't played XR since 1.29 or1.30 I think (cant build empire with broken economy or station manager AI).... So another couple mounts shouldn't make difference :wink:

I haven't touched this game for probably over 3 months now, as we know its pretty awe-ful, but im actully looking forward to the next patch, it seems as though its what we have all been waiting for since November when it was released, theres still bits and bobs still to do but i think once this patch is released it will bring players like me who haven't touched it in several months to play again...if what we are seeing is true and it works then horray..if not then pfttt whats another 6 months waiting, but all in all it looks good what we should of got when we paid full retail for 33% of a game

You know what would be awesome? A Casino Ship!

Like those steam powered ships on the Mississippi where they had private card games and roulette tables etc.

You could have a Capital sized ship you could land on and enter a Casino room and play a host of mini-games to make some credits.
That would be a fun time killer while you wait for trade deals to happen?

This patch is very important from a commercial point of view. Can give a good boost in sales for support post release, and can attract a lot of new people.

Everything should be perfect. So, keep testing, don't rush.

Tell me if i'm wrong, but after 68 pages and my bad english I might have misunderstood.

So, the developers have found and fix several bugs on the economy ?
(mainly with the trade of drones and small or medium ships)

They have also fix and improve command the fleets and ships ?
(Improve the "assign a superior" command)

That's right ?

If yes, i will be the happiest
