Still no way to build/buy small and medium sized ships ?

Was it never the intention of actually adding ship dealers who would build you small and medium sized ships or ?

It's not that I see anything wrong with having to get other ships to bail, but chances are already slim as it is, and well I'd rather not mess up my reputation somewhat with some of the other factions if possible even - anyone knows wether or not if there will be any ship dealers eventually who would otherwise sell/build us those small/medium sized ships ?

Also i've been looking around for mods which might have had put this in, but I haven't been able to find anything but an outdated one :/?

I don't even bother with those, I just buy a Balor or two and have them under my Taranis as escorts. Don't really need the smaller ships.
