Released: X2 Bonus Pack 1.04 and new languages now available on Steam

For some time the Bonus Pack for X2 on Steam has been stuck on version 1.03. We have now uploaded version 1.04 of the Bonus Pack, which also fixes ReadText issues with the previous version, and this is now available for people to try out as a public Beta. To do so, simply right-click on X2 in the Steam client, select Properties, go to the Betas tab and select public_beta from the dropdown list. There is no password for this public Beta.

In this case savegame compatibility issues are unlikely as this is a tried and tested version of the Bonus Pack - only the method of delivery is new - but, as always, we advise people to back up their savegames before joining a public Beta.

At the same time we have also made the Russian, Czech and Polish localisations of X2 available on Steam. These are available without joining the public Beta, but should still be considered as test versions.

Your feedback on both the Bonus Pack and the translations is welcome. Please post in this thread if you do try them out, whether or not you find any problems.

As explained above, the version 1.04 of the Bonus Pack is not new. All that's changed is that it's now finally available from Steam, which was previously giving people version 1.03. The Bonus Pack Thread has a basic change log at the end of the first post.

The BP does not contain any voice. No matter what language you chose.

Sounds good. Recently I've been wondering why there is no BP 1.04 available for Steam version of X2. Later on I added BP 1.04 to my Steam X2 manually, but some scripts didn't work at all :/ (missile def.)

And by the way... You mentioned Polish support as well, but as far as I know there was no official translation of Bonus Pack 1.04. We had "unofficial" and properly translated version but no one for Egosoft decided to acknowledge it :/ and Polish community had to skip BP 1.04 or go for EN version. So has Bonus Pack 1.04 been translated into Polish as well?

Hey but Polish version of BP doesn't exist. I launched the game and everything is in Polish besides BP commands :/

Why is that? I thought ALL content has been localized.

The game itself has been localised. However, it's quite possible that the Bonus Pack has not been localised into all the same languages as the base game.

You say that there was an unofficial translation, but we can only work with what we have. It's a long time ago now so it's possible it was submitted to Egosoft for inclusion at some point, but I'm not aware of it if so.
