X3TC 3.2 DINQD - Surely not a Friendly Yaki?

Post by BankruptAssasin » Mon, 5. Nov 12, 23:43

Well my last DINQD got a corrupted save, I didn’t really mind as I didn’t like the XRM mod I installed, it just made things weird and prices were completely messed up, so I have decided to start another one. Hopefully this will last longer than a prologue and 1 chapter.

Here is the Boring Stuff – Get this out of the way.

Game, Mods & Scripts

X3TC 3.2 - Unleashed
Auto Rename Property
Force NPC Undocking v2
Improved Boarding
Marine Repairs
NPC Bail Addon
Reduced Enemy Missies
Free Jump Credits
Marine Training Manager
No Station Wrecks
Pirate Starts
Salvage Insurance Contract
Missile Safety
Bounce
Remove Rocks
Missile Defence
Numeric Ranks
Yaki/Pirate Ranks
Enhanced Mission Briefing
Cycrow Cheat Package – Just to set up the Game

Rules

1. DINQD – If game crashes, AI Stupidity, Gate Crashes then I will reload – If I lose something big due to my stupidity then I will have to live with it – I foresee many a $ wasted in this game.
2. Repair limit – I am only allowed to repair my Personal Ship – and even then I’m only allowed to repair it if it’s TS, TP, and all fighter classes.
3. I must take part in the war – this will only be happening once I get enough resources to do it – i.e. a few wings, couple of good ships, a few missile plexes
4. I’m not allowed to use any of the freebie ships – unless I happen to stumble across them on my own – this is a bad feature of the game and feel it’s too much of an exploit – Loot and cap ships are off course the exception to this rule.
5. I will refrain from doing much fighting myself – I will instead rely heavily on my command skills and have my staff do the work for me – I will off course help out if needed.
6. No apologising for accidental fire – if I shoot an ally then I shoot an ally, however if a stray missile hits them when not meaning too this will off course be apologised for.
7. *I will only buy from Teladi shipyards – I am allowed to fly any ship I want, but if I want it I have to cap it unless it's Teladi.

Prologue

First of all I’m a Yaki, and my name is De’ad Spa’ce ll, however unlike most other Yaki I do not have a grudge against any of the Commonwealth Races, instead I admire how they can live at ease with each other for the most part. I also admire how they have come together to help purge the Universe of that Xenon and Khaak, this off course has not been accepted too well with my Yaki brethren, and as such I have been made an outcast. My family want nothing to do with me; they think they picked up the wrong baby when I was born and have disowned me, I have been made aware that I am never to return to the Yaki sectors under punishment of death, although unfair and a little harsh, I can accept it, in all honesty I’m lucky to be alive, once a Yaki betrays or is assumed to have betrayed another Yaki, then that Yaki is a dead Yaki, I must thank the stars that I am alive, at least for now.

My main concern at the moment is that the whole Universe hates the Yaki, not unsurprising off course, due to the nature of the Yaki Clan and it’s habit to steal, kill and outright cause mayhem to everyone and anyone, if I can’t go back to Yaki space, and I can’t go to the commonwealth space as a Yaki, then what do I do?

One of my last Yaki friends, Listrim Kr’ycat came up with an idea, one so outrageous that it may actually work. He knows a guy in Omicron Lyrae who can create a forged space I.D, apparently he can make me an I.D that will identify me as a well thought off Argon Patriot – off course this is going to cost me some money, money that I don’t have, I wonder how I can persuade him to do so otherwise? Listrim says its all part of his plan and not to worry about it, How can I not worry about it, if this does not work then I’m left with nowhere to go.

We reach the Shipyard in Omicron Lyrae – A jump drive makes little work of traversing the universe, something I must invest in, in the near future. We meet with Kel Aylin in the bar, he orders another 3 Argon Space Whiskey for the 3 off us and then starts talking about business, how he will go about making me a Humble Merchant – A Humble Merchant? I don’t want to be a humble merchant, I want a better title that that!! But I stay quiet for the mean time. He continues saying how he has done this a hundred times for some of the most feared pirates in the Universe. He then says it will cost 250,000 credits, I’m starting to think he is a bloody pirate!, there is no way I can afford this, I begin to make my excuses that this may have been an bad idea and that I don’t have 250,000 credits to part with, but Listrim does not seem to concerned with this, he just wants to know how it will take, Kel Aylin thinks about it and says that most of the work is already done and that all he needs is the money and we are pretty much finished. I gulp down the last of my whiskey and eyeball Listrim, why aren’t you concerned? Why are you even going along with this charade?

We walk down a long dark corridor, towards Kels quarters, there is not much people around at this time of the night, this is probably a good thing, considering I stand out like a sore thumb in winter, as we reach a U bend in the corridor, Listrim pulls out his laser and shoots Kel Aylin in the back of the head, he reaches into his pocket and pulls out his Key card and hands me it and says – Mission accomplished! & you’re now an Argon Patriot. I stand there looking at him and realize how dumb I actually am, how the hell did I not see this coming? Listrim was on a mission, he was sent here to kill Kel, I wonder what Kel had done, Listrim just used it as an opportunity to kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak, the real problem I’m having here is that deep down I somehow knew what the plan was, and I was OK with it, I was OK that an innocent man was killed for my benefit, maybe I am Yaki after all.

Listrim pulls my key card off me and puts it in Kels pocket, “He will be known as De’ad Spa’ce ll now, no one will come round asking questions about him, you will have to assume his identity now, you will now be known as Kel Aylin, an Argon patriot, his ship is in the docking ring, get to it quickly, the quicker you are out of here the better”

He then takes all of Kels possessions and gives me them, I move quickly to the docking area and look for my new Ship, I put my newly acquired key card in the I dent chip machine, it identifies me as indeed Kel Aylin and directs me to my “New” ship – A Teladi Kestrel – why would an Argon Patriot be flying one of these?

I climb on board and take stock of what I have – 1,000 credits, A fully upgraded/equipped Teladi Kestrel with Triplex Scanner, Freight Scanner, 4 Particle Accelerator Cannons, 3 5mj shields even though it can only use 1 at a time and 2 fragmentation bomb launchers – Not a bad haul considering 20 minutes ago I had nothing at all and I’ve done nothing to get these. I owe Listrim BIG time for this.

Time to go explore & hope no one pays much attention to my appearance and notices that I am not actually Kel Aylin after all.

* I will try to update this as much as possible, i don't plan on having huge chapters as it does take a while to write this down, plus i actually want to play the game, i will try to have weekly updates and will also try to include as many graphics as possible.

* Let me know what you guys think so far, I will have an up date before the end of the week time permitting - I hope it's worth the wait.

Well, Chapter 1 is nearly finished, i just have to add in a few images to it to make it a little better to read. I have decided that i will only do short updates, well at least try to keep them short, i don't think anyone likes reading huge amounts per chapter and about every single detail, let me know if you do, i might change my writing style to accommodate it as i have noticed i can get sucked into it quite easily and before i know it there's a few pages of writing and i have spent a couple hours at it, which is no good for my social life or my work life.

Anyway, Chapter 1 will be uploaded tonight once i get home and upload the pictures.

Chapter 1 – Up Up & Away

I pull out of the Omicron Lyrae ship yard and take stock of what’s around, I hit the boost button and in 0.5 seconds my head has been put through my head rest, and I see a lot of shiny things that use to be stars whizzing by me, when I gain control, take a quick glance over my shoulder to make sure no-one was looking and that I have nothing to be embarrassed about I look down at the Speedo, and realize it’s me whizzing by the stars at 605m/s, I have never before seen or heard of a ship that goes this fast, never mind actually owning it. What a pleasant surprise.

My first objective is to map the sector and surrounding sectors and see if I can make myself some money, I have never left the Yaki sectors before, and so I don’t know too much about the outside world, I feel I have much to learn.

While mapping Omicron Lyrae, I decide to look at the rest of the real “Kel Aylins” belongings, there is nothing of major consequence except for a star map, it appears that Kel Aylin was quite the traveller and kept detailed notes of where the shipyards, equipment docks and weirdly enough all the current locations of the Pirate Bases in the Universe are, I assume the pirate bases are where he got a lot of his “work” from, I sure hope no one from the shady parts of the Universe are expecting him/me as they will be in for disappointment.

As I’m finishing off mapping the Sector, my comm. goes off and another Argon identifies himself, apparently my new key card is working as he wants me to help escort a couple of Terrans back to their space, I consider this for a few minutes and decide that at the minute I would much rather make myself some money and get some protection sorted out in case this key card fails sometime in the future and they find out I’m really a Yaki, then I’m super screwed.

I head westward into Nathans Voyage, once there I bump into a Paranid, those 3 eyed freaks that have a personal grudge against the Yaki, you’re lucky we are in friendly space or I would have you killed, a quick glance at the nav com and I realise I am in Argon space, Argon & Paranid although are currently on a ceasefire, I’m sure I can take this Paranid down without risking the wrath of the Argons.

I follow the target and start blasting away at his shields, once he goes red I check the nav com, Argons are not interested, happy days, I’m going to get me one of those fat, 3 eyed sweaty freaks once and for all. My parents may yet be able to call me their son and I may yet be able to return home in the future.

Man this is easy, he hasn’t even got a drone onboard never mind a weapon, the hull starts to drop and I get a lot of cursing sent my way, but eventually he sees sense and decides he would actually prefer a little fresh air and leaves his ship for me. This confuses me some, should I even bother owning one of these? I’m sure it smells inside, it will smell of a Paranid, I don’t think I can bring myself to breath the air they breathe, I think I will have to hire or trick someone else into flying it and hope they don’t mind the smell.
Even though I’m trying to leave my Yaki routes behind me, I just can’t bring myself to fly a Paranid ship, maybe after a while I will try it, rumour has it that their ships are actually quite good, if a bit of the cheap side cargo wise, but this will come in handy once I fix it up and upgrade it some. I jump out and claim it, and order the Demeter SF “Donkey” back to Omicron Lyrae shipyard for repairs.

I continue to head West and find Scale Plate Green, a Teladi owned sector, one that is fairly small as my Triplex scanner picked up all stations & gates in a matter of seconds, that and the fact that I’m flying the fastest ship available means I’m mapping these sectors out very quickly. I head north into PTNI HQ another Teladi sector and decide to head east into an unknown sector where there is a Pirate base, I decide to head that direction and when I get close, I see a number of laser towers, the pirate base and a couple of stations and they appear red to me, damn it, either they know I’m not Kel Aylin or Kel Aylin done something to annoy them, maybe he didn’t show up when he was supposed to? Either way, I am Kel Aylin and it’s my problem now.

I turn back and hope no-one seen me and while on my way back I see a Boron Dolphin, remembering how easy it was to dispose that Nid from his ship, I think the Dolphin could come in handy, plus I’m outside of the commonwealth so my rep won’t drop except with the Boron, but I’m sure I can fix that at a later stage, right now though, I need a few ships to start doing some trading as this Kestrel “Meep Meep” only has 55 for its cargo hold and that’s not going to help me that much.

I follow the target, he is close to the West Gate, but I’m travelling 4-5 times faster than he is and reach him very quickly and start blasting away at his shields, this is not as easy as that Nid, he has a Turret, a quick look at the encyclopaedia that Kel “left” for me identifies it as a fragmentation Bomb Launcher, I have two of them but not equipped, as it turns out, it is a completely pointless weapon, even flying behind the turret and it does not even hit me once, but he won’t eject, a quick scan of his cargo bay shows he has nothing of note as I’m about to go elsewhere, he decides he will abandon ship, well if you insist I take it I will, I hope you haven’t left something nasty onboard.

[ external image ]

I jump out and claim it, I wonder if maybe I should repair it since the hull dropped to 33% but decide against it as I’m still in site of that Pirate Base and I don’t fancy dancing with them while I’m in my suit. I head back to Meep Meep and order the Dolphin “Nemo” back to PTNI HQ shipyard for repairs, I decide to follow suit to make sure no one tries to take control off or kill him.

He is extremely slow, probably because its only 33% hull and it takes him a while to get back into PTNI, while I was waiting for him I noticed that 3 Pirates are in the Sector, 2 Falcons and 1 Nova Raider, I panic because it seems they are shooting a lot of ships up, the Teladi Shrike in the sector

[ external image ]

does not seem to interested in killing them and with Nemo being so slow he will be a sitting duck, I tell it to quickly dock in the nearest station and watch as the Pirates attack a Teladi freighter and a Boron freighter who proceeds to drop drones out, and low and behold, those pesky little drones managed to drop 3 M3 class ships, I have got to invest in some of these for myself and my freighters, and to top it all off there is 160 Nostrop just sitting there for the Dolphin to pick up.

We both dock without further incident, maybe I should have repaired that ship, it’s so badly damaged that it’s going to cost a small fortune to fix up, and seeing as it’s not the best ship anyway I think it will be a good idea to scrap it for some much needed funds. Decisions Decisions, I think I will have a Whiskey, find somewhere to sleep, and plan for my day ahead.

Chapter 2 arrives

Chapter 2 – Xenon, Pirates & Khaak

Well today turned out to be both destructive & productive which will be evident shortly. Right now though I need to get my trading ships up and running to start making me some cash and for that I need money, a catch 22 scenario. I only have 1,000 credits to my name and a crap cargo hold (55), I remember there was a bliss place that sold space weed, but where could I sell it? I’m not exactly on the Pirates Christmas card list so I’m a little stumped, I don’t think I’m going to be trading anytime soon, I need a plan B.

I look at what I have onboard and I see those two fragmentation bomb launchers, and remember just how rubbish they were on Nemo, I take a quick trip to the space equipment dock and to my surprise they are worth quite a bit of money, around 200k each, that will do nicely. While I’m here I decide to upgrade Meep Meep a little more, so I buy a trading system extension, special command software and all the usual bells and whistles that the E.D had available for around 100k, a little bonus of this was my increasing rep with the Teladi – 1 of my objectives is now under way.

I then upgrade Donkey and get him repaired, this costs me a little over 150k, so I have spent the guts of 250k, not bad considering 15 minutes ago I only had 1k to my name. And another objective is almost finished. I then decide that Donkey will start doing trade runs through Omicron Lyrae, a lot of the stations are quite low on energy and luckily enough there is an XL Solar Power Plant next door in Nathans Voyage, so I send him on his way and then go to check out how much Nemo is going to cost me, on my way towards Scale Plate Green, I bump into a Dukes Hermes, another Nid ship but a TP class, I have seen missions worth over 400k for a single trip but needed a TP class ship. I decide I want it; it could be put to good use, the problem being he actually has decent weapons and puts up a decent fight, knocking my hull down to 40%, but like the others he decides it’s safer to space walk near a gate and gives me the keys to his badly damaged ship. I send it on to the Shipyard in Omicron Lyrae, start my engineering work and fix up Meep Meep

[ external image ]

Then do a couple scan asteroid missions that will give me some extra funds but also build up my rep with a couple of the other races including the Split, who I have noticed have very pretty ships.

I then head in to PTNI HQ to assess the cost of fixing both the Hermes and Nemo, Nemo is going to bankrupt me,

[ external image ]

and he will only be half fixed, I decide to cut my losses and sell him, the same goes for the Hermes, it’s going to cost a fortune, plus I still can’t bring myself to sit in a Nid ship, so from having 4 ships I’m down to 2, Meep Meep & Donkey, let’s hope nothing goes wrong because I really need to start making some funds.

• Speak of the Devil and the Devil will appear

I accept another scan asteroid mission and just as I scan the last asteroid, my computer system rings of an alarm, I immediately look around for contacts but don’t seem to see anything on my screen, as it turns out, 4 pirates, which consists of 2 elites, 1 Nova & a Dragon are having some target practice on Donkey, to my horror and utter stupidity, I forgot to equip him with shields, I’m two sectors away and decide to go and help him before it’s too late, co-ordinates set but before I reach the first gate, he dies by the hands of one of the Elites,

[ external image ]

Bloody Pirates, They must be on to me, they know Kel Aylin is dead and are starting to target my ships. I need to rectify this but how? Can I bribe the Pirate clans? If so, how? Or should I just eradicate them from existence?

As I wonder what my next move is, I decide to start mapping new sectors, I may as well start doing something worthwhile while I consider my options. I go South into Scale Plate Green and start heading towards Xenon 347, my ship does 605, there is no way those toasters or washing machines with brains will catch me, so I’m feeling pretty safe, although, I’m fully aware that over confidence has been a known Yaki trait, one that sooner or later catches up to us. As I’m nearing the South gate, 4 Pirates come steaming through, it’s not the same ones that shot up Donkey, but I’m still raw about it, they cost me a few 100k worth of ship/upgrades/cargo and time so I’m going to mess them up whenever I can.

I bomb across and kill the Harrier very quickly, I then target the Nova, I barely make him blink but he fires this green goo at me and suddenly I’m no longer a 605 m/s missile, I’ve been reduced to nearly half that, time to go on the defensive and run back to the centre of the sector, maybe I’m not a Yaki Pirate after all, maybe I’m a Boron in disguise? luckily for me there is a Teladi Military Shrike there and it takes care of them easily, hahahaha, I bet you didn’t see that coming you Pirate Scum, I look around and see there is a couple of missiles, nothing that impressive, I nip back up to PTNI and off load them along with the Tornado Missile I found ages ago and gets me a nice sum of money again. I consult the Star Map that Kel so kindly left for me, Eighteen Billion sounds like a profitable sector, that’s my next stop.

Once I get into Xenon 347 I expect to see a Toaster Army waiting for me, well there was an Army, just not Xenon,

[ external image ]

Looks like the Teladi have decided they would rather not have the Xenon here and have decided to destroy their base, and insist on killing everything toaster shaped, this gives me an idea, I scoot around and with my Triplex scanner I can see a lot of left over goodies,

[ external image ]

I start picking up left over missiles, only the ones that the computer says are worth a bit of money, but I also scoop up more familiar looking ones, the disruptor missiles, ah Yaki handwork at large, I think I will keep these for future use and sell the rest for profits. Once my cargo bay is full I head into Eighteen billion prepared to make a fortune, but not before some Xenon decide I’m a better target than the Teladi, a couple M’s start shooting at me, I decide to return fire, but don’t really do any damage, I’m running out of energy just before it’s shields are down and his bullets are frying my shields quicker, this really hits home the fact that I need back up, and good back up or a new and improved ship, I must keep an eye out for something juicy to buy or convince the current owner to part with it.

I bolt towards the gate after outsmarting a couple missiles and make it safely into Eighteen Billion, unfortunately I’ve to go south into Inamus Zura to sell my loot. All of a sudden I’m 187k richer and decide that I’m going to risk Xenon 347 again, its proven very profitable and I was able to keep some of the goodies for myself. After an uneventful salvage I come back to the E.D and sell a couple more missiles to bring my total salvage to 231k, not bad for 15 minutes work, although it is a slightly dangerous occupation. I think I may have to upgrade to a new ship soon, 5mj shields are not that impressive in the grand scheme of things, plus the energy reactor is not that good either as evidenced by the fact I’ve only managed to kill a Harrier and made as much damage to that Nova as a sneeze would, but nothing is going to be anywhere near this quick, do I really want to compromise on speed, speed seems to be the best form of defence. I will need to think this through a little more.

I begin to map the Western sectors and start buying up some maps from some local traders to make my life a little more easier, while I’m in a split sector called Thuracks beard I see a couple of Boron ships, one is a TM with 2 fighter escorts, too much for my wee Kestrel, especially with 4 Pacs on it, the computer system seems mixed up, I’ve instructed the turrets to only shoot missiles but every time I make a pass they keep shooting and drain my energy reserves, this is causing me problems and needs to be looked at. The other ship is a lonely Dolphin, I need money and if I attack the Boron, the split will turn a blind eye to it, I decide to give it a go, as I do he drops about 9 drones out, after seeing these rip 3 M3’s apart in a matter of minutes I panic, but before I know it he bails, I start racing around the sector until the drones run out of fuel, I jump out and then claim the Dolphin, again this is badly damaged and has a top speed of 20, not that ideal when we are this close to Hatikvah’s Faith, I sent him to a shipyard for scrap, and pray that he makes it there.

I continue on through the western sectors, and bump into 3 pirates, 2 elites and a buster, I engage the Buster thinking I can upgrade to that, fully kitted out it goes 199 so not that slow, plus it has double the shields of the Kestrel and better weapon recharge capacity, so on paper it’s a better ship, eventually he bails at 64% hull and the two elites get wiped out by the local fuzz, I jump out, claim and repair it, send the Kestrel to a trading station and meet up with it to swap the gear out, I’m now the proud owner of a Buster.

I continue North into Teladi Gain, Family whi, Ceo’s Buckzoid direction and start to do more scan asteroid missions, the difference between the Kestrel & Buster are very obvious now, it is painfully slow doing these missions, and the reality is that although it has double the shields, it has no rear turret to shoot down incoming missiles, it’s not fast enough to outrun anything so it is twice as likely to get hit as the Kestrel, I think I may jump back into the Kestrel and just sell the Buster to raise funds, the kestrel has done me good thus far, I need a good fast combat ship, not even for combat but for survivability, maybe a Split ship will do? Fast and will have better shielding, I will have to look into acquiring one.

I make it to Argon Prime but not before being politely told to leave all boron core sectors by those friendly Boron fish, apparently I have a poor status, and they seem to dislike how their pilots keep giving me Dolphins to be sold. I think I may have to play nice for a while. While in Argon Prime I see a lovely Titan just moving causally around the sector, I think I like, and I think I want, but by the looks of it, it’s a few credits more than what I have right now.

I travel south into Home of Light and dock at the Terracorp HQ, here I buy a Transporter device and a Jump drive, hahaha, now I can jump to any of the sectors I want in a blink of an eye, as I transfer the credits over to the mechanic, he pulls me over to the side, he tells me that he knows I’m not Kel Aylin, and that he knew Kel a few years back, now this causes me a problem, this was something I did not want known, but if I kill him people are going to know I was last with him. I can’t have the Argons angry with me, not while I’m In their core sector, Fortunately he tells me he is glad Kel is dead or missing or whatever has happened to him as he owed Kel a large sum of money and I actually done him a favour, as such he says he will return the favour and show me how to over tune the Jump drive I just purchased, it will allow me to jump to any station in any of the sectors I have found without the need to use Ecells, I almost jump down his throat or go to my knees and beg him as the Kestrels cargo hold is so small that after 2-3 jumps if I’m lucky would need a refill of energy cells and not leave me any room for missiles, but I stay strong and pretend that it’s not that big of a favour, but I would accept it anyway. Talk about a stroke of luck, there was me thinking I had be had, the local fuzz were going to nab me and either kill me or worse, throw me down to the Paranid Prison system, just because I’m a Yaki.

As I leave the station I decide to test out the new hardware, lets jump to Inamus Zura, oh yes, this does come in very handy, now I won’t need to travel through Xenon sectors and risk being assimilated or annihilated, although they do offer good salvage. I check the Sector map and see two ships with mission signs beside their name, the owners are selling their ships, ones a Demeter and another is a Mako Vanguard, the two ships cost me less than 100k,

[ external image ]

I sell the Mako for 168k and decide that the Mercury “Donkey Kong” will be my new TS, this time I will put shields on him though. I send him to the shipyard to get fixed up, 70k later and he is as good as new, he makes his way over to the Equipment dock and buys all the usual stuff plus 4 5mj shields, not much but hopefully enough to hold off a small attack until help arrives. Help that I really need to sort out soon, I’ve been thinking of a fast response group, and seeing as I’m in the fastest ship available that I know off, I think a wing of Kestrels is a good idea.

I check the Shipyard out, they have something called a Pelican, this looks like a small Carrier and indeed it is able to carry 4 docked fighters, this looks like an ideal chance to get backup, however a quick glance at my funds makes me realize that I’m still poor, less than a 100k and I need some capital to get Donkey Kong trading manually. I start doing some more Scan asteroid missions, but the real money it seems is as a taxi driver, 3 times in 3 stations I have had to pass up 300k+ jobs due to not having a TP, this is my next objective, save enough money to buy a Teladi TP or acquire one by other means, in the mean time I should be able to do some taxi missions in this Kestrel if I can get something called the Cargo Life Support, my issue with this is that apparently Pirates have this for sale and as I’m sure you have noticed, they don’t appear to be the most friendly to me currently, but maybe not all of them are enemies, time to do some searching.

I travel to the Ore Belt in search for the Pirate base there, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere, I then jump to Hatikvah’s Faith in search of that Pirate base, I can’t find one here either, I do another quick jump into Atreus’ Clouds and the Pirate base is not here either, what is going on? Is the Star map I have all wrong? Is someone playing tricks? Everything else in the star map seems to be there, could the Pirates have moved operations? Or have some Military Race destroyed them? If so, it’s been one hell of a mission, that’s at least 3 pirate stations wiped out and it leaves me cursing my luck again.

While I’m in Atreus’ Clouds consulting my map, to find other pirate bases, I see a couple more ships for sale, 2 Mercury SF – these can hold an awful lot of cargo, will make big profits and I can get both of them for less than 100k,

Deal

But they are terribly slow, and I don’t do slow, I decide to cash them in at the shipyard in Argon prime, hopefully they will make me a decent profit. I’m sitting at around 200k at this point due to some more scan asteroid missions and a couple manual trading with Donkey Kong, the sale of these two SF will hopefully push that towards the 400k mark.

I’m sitting in the Ore Belt, getting a little bored of scanning asteroids, and manually sending Donkey Kong to stations, I shouldn’t have to spoon feed him, he should know what to do by now, but he insists on having a new upgrade called the Trade Command Software Mk3 – or in monetary form 500k before he will even consider doing the trading for himself, maybe I should just hire a new pilot and make this one space walk a few km, but he assures me that no matter who I hire, they will say the same thing. This is not the life I had imagined, I could have been out there fighting and fighting, taking whatever I wanted, when I wanted, okay the drawback is that the life expectancy of a Yaki Pirate was the same as that of a butterfly caught in a spiders web, but at least it would be exciting, fun and meaningful.

Just as I’m thinking that I may have made a mistake living my life sort of “legally” I notice that betty is screaming at me, apparently one of my newly acquired SF’s is under attack, at least it isn’t Donkey Kong, but the weird thing is that it’s in the Ore Belt, why the hell did it come down here? I sent you to Argon Prime, you fool, your defiantly getting air locked if you survive this. As I’m wondering this, and looking to the stars to curse my luck yet again it gets destroyed by a Khaak Destroyer, a Khaak Destroyer decided that my little SF was a suitable target for it, then it hits home, I’m in the Ore Belt, where the hell is it? I can’t see anything, a closer inspection yields no sign of it, it must have been destroyed because a Heavy Centaur with 98% hull just flies on by me, or it’s moved on to Home of Light, but by the looks of things here, I actually may have a little bit of luck for a change,

All those ships and missiles need to be claimed

I decide to strip all the ships and put everything into the Nova Vanguard for safe storage until I know what to do with it, the Busters are rubbish as I have personal experience with, the two Eclipse are very very ugly as you can see,

I can’t been in something that looks like some kind of woodlouse creature, the sale of the 4 ships & the missiles

Brings me in at over 2.5 million credits, oh Khaak, how I love you so, and to top it all off I have a good number of guns available, a Cargo Life Support system that I can put in the Kestrel and a decent M3 fighter, oh how my luck has changed this day.

I send Donkey Kong over to the equipment dock and buy him his upgrade, now I don’t need to spoon feed him, any bloody pirates touch him and they are dead. I must buy drones for him to use. I also decide that I am going to buy that Pelican and 3 Kestrels, unfortunately, they only have the S/M versions, but that’s ok as the stripped ships provided me with enough guns for them all. I dock in the Pelican and assign the Kestrels as Blue wing, Meep Meep is now the leader of 3 other ships and will now be known as “First Blood “and these will be my back-up team, these will swoop in when I need them to either protect me or protect my property.

I dock at the Swarm missile complex in PTNI and buy 230 Wasp Missiles, these will give the Kestrels that extra bite when they need it. All this spending has brought me down to less than 200k, It appears that I have a problem saving money for that rainy day that I’m sure is just around the corner, but I have waited this long to buy back-up and with Donley Kong still on 20mj shields, back-up is fairly important.

I jump back to the Ore Belt and I’m about to get into the Nova Vanguard, even though its damaged and I won’t have enough funds to repair it, I notice another ship for sale, an Iguana Vanguard, at long last I am able to do these Taxi Missions, I think this will be my personal ship for a while. I repair it quickly and buy another Jump drive, I look for a taxi mission and find one for nearly 500k, it’s very hard and I’ve got 22 minutes, 3 minutes later I’m 500k richer,

Now it’s time to have a little fun, the money is rolling in, I have my back up and I have a TS doing trading, I’ve just accomplished pretty much all of my original objectives. Time for some whiskey, a long nap and have myself some fun.

Glad your enjoying it, to be honest i wasn't sure anyone was that interested in it and it's kinda went on the back-burner for a while while i play around with another save. I will see if i have time to restart it, especially if people are interested - I will only have short chapters from now on in, it can be very long writing these chapters and feel that a short summary of what has happened and were i am at will be suffice.

Thanks for your support.
