All I can say is when DS took over the way and the amount of time and info that ego used to give on the forums changed.
DS actually posted here occasionally before X2,I havent seen a post from them since then
Sice X2 this is actually the way it goes none to little info until right before we can get game
I was hoping ES would be rid of DS with the steam hook up but I guess they still need finance backup...it certainly cant be for advert or publishimg,well not here in the US anyway

I can confirm that it's Deepsilver's fault we're not hearing about anything, I asked a member of Egosoft (though for privacy reasons I can't say which).
Sadly I no longer have the PM, lost it when my PC locked up a couple months back, but yeah, blame Deepsilver

Doesn't that mean you can't confirm it, if you can't show what was said and by who?
You can't say you confirm something when you lost the evidence to prove it.
If DS is resonsable for the "black out" then i applaud them for being smart at this point. It is a good bussiness model, especially considering the community response thus far. it's a wise business move. IF this is at all the case.
Let me clarify this:
As a Consumer - I wish i knew more about the game and was updated, purely out of desire, but i'm also alright with not being told. I can spend the time doing something else.
As a bussiness man - i feel DS IF responsable are doing something rather wise. Because of the communities reaction to this point and how much it CAN effect the games sales. It's a good business model and rather old fashioned as mentioned previously. But it does cause stability is sales as hypes are left to the previews before launch.

Since that game is a reboot of some sort and a lot of guys said OMG NO, as any NEW consumer the franchise may need, WTF is X-Rebirth ?

Yeah until you discover at release that you have for real that april fool "Move your hips for more profitssss".
"But it was cheap" you'd say, sales will reply "but it was cr*p".

Egosoft needs to stop blaming their publisher and accept responsibility for (what strongly appears to be) agreeing to horrible contractual terms with incredibly terrible performance metrics and restrictions (on developer). Was it really that hard to secure funding that you had to give up informational release rights in exchange for $ and what appears to be little to no responsibility on the production company (besides providing the $)? Deep Silver doesn't even keep their website updated on upcoming products, and it has been years since they have updated much of their site! That is ridiculous. But hey, it's within Egosoft's right to make a bad deal. Sure, I don't have access to the contract so I can't really tell for sure, but if it smells like bull, it usually is.
Point is, feelings after Gamescom - Well, this is what you bargained for Egosoft. You need to take responsibility. I really hope this is part of some genius strategy you agreed to with the production company to market your product, because I'm not seeing it.

Yes, it's hard to secure funding in this economy.
"Take responsibility" - exactly what do you want them to do? Admit "yes we have a contract that prevents us from saying much" and breach said contract to tell you more?
I think they should close the X-R forum. We're getting too emo.

Why should they close the forum ? just because someone has diff view point?
It's just Irrational comments - just like people saying close the forum because they not hearing any word on the development.
I also want to hear from egosoft on the game.
They don't have to silence themselves into oblivion.
I like it when Developers take the time to status updates on games they are working on it (Minecraft, Torchlight 2, Grim Dawn all do it, even blizzard do it).

Wow, good thing you don't have any authority here, then. No, the forum is fine as it is. I honestly don't care worth a shit whether or not we're getting game updates. I know the game is going to be released. I don't know when, and I don't know where, but development on it isn't cancelled. That's all that matters to me. In the meantime, though, I'm thoroughly enjoying reading posts by people who seem to have some sort of 6-yr old girl personality, over reacting and blowing things out of proportion.

I doubt anybody's laughing. Let me give you more realistic picture. DS ignores about 99% of what is happening here and probably discussing if the total nullification of advertising should be enough, or they should cut further. ES I can't even talk about their state. I can make theories ranging from bad to disaster, depending on X:AP sales, so better say nothing.
