|
|
We've all gotten used to the various commonwealth races, but with the shutdown of the gate system in Rebirth, and from the sounds of it, being focused on the Albion sectors (Argon territory in X3 AP) - doe's this mean were not going to be seeing much, if anything of our Paranid/Boron/Split/Teladi friends?
I've had a nosey around the stickies, but so far no mention anywhere of any other non human races - just hoping Egosoft keep the other races ingame in Albion.

Taken from my interview, that's all the information we have about what races will be in-game.

Thanks - been reading through the forums but there so many posts I must have missed the interview one
Good to know - Hmmm could be Paranid or Borons, as they seem the races most players love to hate

Would it really matter?
The more I think about it, the AI in this game is just one faceless mass of victims...
I dont' care if they're human, teladi, split, paranid, boron, xenon, or Khaak.... their ships blow up just the same.
they all blow up... just... the... same....
LOL J/K how creepy was that!? I'm sure there will be a mixture of races, that makes the galaxy alive.

The Telida and Split are the most likely two races to be in game. That is if you go by how close their sectors where to Terrans and Argons.

According to the Encyclopedia, 'In the Spring of the year 801 NT, sixteen years after the effective end of the Community of Planets, messenger drones from Paranid Prime arrived at Nishala, the Boron homeworld, and Argon Prime.'
My guess, The plans for the interstellar highways were distributed via the messenger drones. This way, the Paranids, Borons and Argons are connected again.
Split and Teladi could not be contacted, meaning no highway technology at their end >> no traveling there.
Terrans? There was a war with them. No traveling to Earth I think... (Not in the beginning of the game…)
Then again, what do I know?

um.. if you look at the screen shots we have received there is a lost split colony in that massive rock vein part of space that seems to be incorporated into the atmosphere here http://www.egosoft.com/games/x_rebirth/screenshots/x_rebirth_screen_027.jpg so we can confirm on that part that the split will at least feature in x rebirth, plus since egosoft have bothered with the teladi's race in here http://www.egosoft.com/games/x_rebirth/screenshots/x_rebirth_screen_023.jpg I can deem it highly likely that the teladi will also be in rebirth, and in x3AP the JSDD (johnferson)
did give the plans to the paranid added to that,

so maby the paranid ended up giving the plans to the rest of the races? or used it for total dominance under the Maximus paranidia?

not necessarily, it could also be a remnant from a battle against split and the civilians (whatever race they may be) settled in it.

Gate connections have absolutely nothing to do with physical proximity. It's part of the lore that sectors dozens of gates apart could be adjacent star systems while sectors connected by gates could be on opposite sides of the galaxy. It's all at the whim of the ancients, who had periodically 'adjusted' the gate system for whatever reasons.

Bad PTR for Nerco'ing this thread too. True Nanook. But, I ment by connecting gates at the time before the crash. You know how you postthings late at night and forget about something then add it in a few minutes to days later.
