Two words: Millennium FalconHarada Taro wrote:Hoping this won't be the sole ship we can pilot cause i'm gonna drop it as soon as possible looks no more heavy than a heavy firgther of small corvette.... Nothing of real interest to me.
She was little more than a tin can full of s*** but Han Solo turned it into the most badass ship in Star Wars. So before you go bi***ing about the Skunk learn what it can do and what you can do with it first

This has been confirmed a long time ago, you won't be able to pilot any ship other than the Skunk.Harada Taro wrote:Hoping this won't be the sole ship we can pilot cause i'm gonna drop it as soon as possible looks no more heavy than a heavy firgther of small corvette.... I'll take the Executor over that overrated tin-can any day, thank you.Freya Nocturne wrote:Two words: Millennium Falcon

So the game won't be mine and is no more an X-style game. X offered us the possibilities to fly anything that was in game...Noimageavaiable wrote:This has been confirmed a long time ago, you won't be able to pilot any ship other than the Skunk.Harada Taro wrote:Hoping this won't be the sole ship we can pilot cause i'm gonna drop it as soon as possible looks no more heavy than a heavy firgther of small corvette.... You want the Executor? That bucket of bolts. It may have a big cannon but it handles so badly that when the Death Star exploded it actually rammed into the next Star Destroyer down the lot. At least the Falcon is manoueverable. Besides at 6 miles long it's very hard to find a parking space. I suppose true for a Death Star, but that thing can make it's own parking space.
Back on topic. You can't fly other ships *directly*. You can command drones via the VR helmet and by all accounts drones will be very capable. You'll also be able to give orders to capital ships via their crew.

As far as I can tell, you will be able to *own* pretty much all ships, but smaller ships and transports will be drones controlled from the Albion Skunk - basically the same as now, except you don't die if your ship falls apart. Your battleships will behave as if you're the admiral onboard, not the navigator, helmsman and engine crew all in one - you'll be giving orders to those people, which I think is rather cool.
Allergic to work.

That's precisely on that point that i'm eager to learn everything on how precise are the orders you will able to give on the command bridge. I just want to be like Piccard in the captain's seat of the enterprise. He gives orders, the crew follows them.Master of the Blade wrote:As far as I can tell, you will be able to *own* pretty much all ships, but smaller ships and transports will be drones controlled from the Albion Skunk - basically the same as now, except you don't die if your ship falls apart. And if such is possible, be sure as soon as I can gain a capital ship or anything bigger than a heavy fighter/small frigate the Albion seems to be. I will kick that junk into a starbase hanger and turn the light down forever. Only playing from the capital ship.
Plus I have in the modding community to bring us a mod that will transfer the Albion bridge on any other type of ship and give us full control of them.

Same here, but I'm very pessimistic about that. From what we know ordering your captain around could be just the same old command menu just with the picture of a captain next to it, kinda like hired TLs right now. Doesn't help that Bernd stated way back in the No capships thread that you won't be standing on the bridge IIRC.Harada Taro wrote:And if such is possible, be sure as soon as I can gain a capital ship or anything bigger than a heavy fighter/small frigate the Albion seems to be. We already have another, long-lived thread here concerning what ships we can and cannot control/fly. Don't really think we need another.

Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.
