Family Fortune (Albion Prelude)

In Transcend II mod, the Observe Space Research (OSR) Fleet, along with the CEO of the company, and many top scientists, were sucked through a wormhole into another galaxy; leaving behind a son who inherited control of the company.

As Heir to one of the wealthiest families in the galaxy, you have spent your personal fortune amassing a powerful Fleet of warships to help defend against the Terran incursion.

Requirements:

• Egosoft Albion Prelude

Notes:

• All ships are spawned with full shields and weapons
• This mod is not a "false patch". It is selected as the Active Mod from start-up configuration.
• All mod files are inside the cat/dat pair (no external files)
• AP HQ plot is disabled because this mod already includes the PHQ

The Ships:

Mobile Fortress III

The Mobile Fortress, is capable of containing multiple Carriers, Destroyers, Transports, and ships of all sizes. This M1 class ship was designed for the purpose of providing a mobile base station for an entire Fleet. Because of the highly complex docking system, Capital ships CANNOT undock manually. This means pilots MUST NOT be inside Capital ships until they have left the Fortress. Manual (pilot) undocking will result in shield damage.

Following the loss of Observe Space Research scientists during the Wormhole Incident, this powerful Superfreighter remained unfinished on the drawing boards. Argon scientists revived the design and brought it into production because of wartime demand for a military freighter capable of supplying much needed cargo through dangerous enemy infested sectors. Fast, heavily armed and shielded, this ship can hold its own against most moderate Fighter attacks.

Not yet released for the mass market, this new model in the long-running Evader series of M3 class Fighters represents a complete re-design of the body style. While technically still retaining the Stealth characteristics of its predecessors, this new craft remains unproven in the field, and is still in early flight testing. If this ship meets its expectations, it will likely become a favorite among fighter pilots; as have others in the series. Unusual for an M3, this ship sports a front turret in addition to its rear turrets and standard front guns.

Also used for light transport when speed is of the essence. This ship has very weak shields, but does possess a single front gun capable of mounting IRE or PAC weapon.

Average difficulty with all those goodies? Hmmm... :)

Looks like a lot of fun though, might end up being my next gamestart.

Update v1.3.4 now available.

Change Log:

- Added M5 Dart fast Scout ship
- Added PHQ (in Factory Transport cargo bay)
- Removed AP HQ plot (because PHQ included)

Note:

Considering this mod is called "Family Fortune", and you already start out with a vast array of resources (ships), I decided to include the PHQ as well. This lets players start with virtually everything they need to begin building their empire, exploring the galaxy, or participating in the war effort as they choose - without the tedium of having to do the HQ plot-line. :)

Hello Observe,

i "love" the Mod Transcend 2. This are one of the Best mod ever. But i don`t understand while the Xenon Mothership are not Inside this Mod for Albion Prelude.

Please give us the best Xenon Ships, named Mothership and the other Xenon Ships from u work.

Following a period of absence from modding this game, and in light of the delay with X Rebirth, we decided to begin preparation for an AP compatible mod. Family Fortune (this mod) was the first stage in that effort.

The reason we didn't include the Mech's, is because we are currently working on a full Transcend I conversion for AP.

Currently, I am "perfecting" the Moonbase. At the same time, we are working on various other things to make our new mod "Transcend III Prelude" represent the best from the work we've done previously.

So, to answer your question, we plan to release (soon) a major AP compatible mod which will include all our custom models from both Transcend I and II. :)

I agree, it's fun to dive right to the war and the way you've set it up makes it possible to start up OSR shipbuilding and industry in a way that really lends itself to roleplay.

Thanks for all your work!

My only (tiny!) complaint, as I go back and play Transcend on the side, is that it feels like you should start in a luxury TP! ;)

I ended up restarting and cheating in a Phantom just so that I could fly it to Enduring Light. Gotta set the proper mood!:D

Since both mods add new ships, thereby affecting common configuration files, you would have to combine them.

Because I always do everything manually, I've never used Cycrow's Plugin Manager, but apparently a lot of people use that for combining mods (I think). You may want to take a look at that.
