we will get an announcement on the forums letting us know... my belief is we will get a better idea if not exact date at Gamescon, and if memory serves me right the last time something like that happened it was released at the convension and then posted up here that same night.

There is a guy named Julius Verne. I think we should send him an email about the game. I think he WILL find it entertaining.
Also there is a little 6 years old kid called Hermann Oberth a guy called Tsiolkovsky and a young American called Robert H. Goddard, which will ABSOLUTELY LOVE it. Maybe we should even petition to get them the game!

and I tried googling for a u.s. preorder. none as of yet to be found

Don't know about this date (or any date), but I doubt Europe is LATER than US for X:R. Egosoft is a German company.

Don't bother with pre-orders yet. We don't even know for sure whether there will be a hard-copy or not.
