I couldn't find any threads discussing this, but does anyone know if Rebirth will be at E3 this year with a tech demo, or something to show the masses?

Well DeepSilver (the publisher) does have a booth at E3 so they might show off X:R. But it's just an American convention so I don't know.

And if they don't show it at E3 then I'll bet on it that they will showcase X:R at Gamescom 2012. There was an X:R video from Gamescom 2011, so there's probably a good chance that they will be at Gamescom 2012.

Eek, I always picture any games convention as a universal thing, with no borders, that sucks that it's thought of as an American convention.

I did however watch the gamescom 2011 footage, and was marveled of course. Well let's hope they show off X:R cause I'm dying for some more footage.

You cleared up another mistake I made, in thinking that deepsilver and egosoft were one company. At least for some unknown reason that was my thinking.

If they are planning to release the game in 2012 I don't see why they wouldn't showcase it at e3. It may be an american convention but americans buy games. I hope they show something. Seems like there would be more info coming out on this site if they werent saving it for e3.

If they don't have something to show at E3 for Rebirth, I'm gonna officially lose interest and maybe check back here in another 6 months.

I second that.

If ES/DS looses any more interest in it's fans, its time I (as a fan) start showing mutual interest.

Yeah and the fact that Rebirth doesn't even show up on Deepsilver's American website does not look hopeful for any info at E3.

I think a LOT of people will be dissapointed if there is no info given at E3...myself included.

In contrast, if you look at Blizzard and their still vaporware SC2: Heart of the Swarm, they release news on ongoing development almost every month to keep the fans jumping in their seat:

Heart of the Swarm MP

I just hope that Ego know what they are doing in terms of schedule/release etc..., since they have done it for more than 12 years now. I just think that it could have been done a lot better, had they were more open about the development. Of course, I know the resources at Ego is nothing compared to that of Blizzard, but IMHO, how to pick the interest of the fanbase should not differ much!!!!

The total silence is deafening!!!! Razz

And one more time, it's up to the publisher Deepsilver to release, or permit the release of, any information. Egosoft cannot release info without DS's permission. So rag on DS, not Egosoft. Rolling Eyes

I am not talking about release date etc.... I am talking about issueing a devnote once every month to keep the fans interested. Up until now, about 1 year after the announcement of HoTS, we still don't know when it will be released Smile, but Blizzard know how to wet their fan's appetite.

For example, the Highway is a new feature of XR and Bernd has somewhat given an overview of it. Howabout some more details, some screenshots of how it works, how you can fight inside the highway, how pirates can interrupt the traffic (like in Freelancer Smile etc.... )

OK, with that said, you are right about DS, but they don't have a forum that I can rag on Laughing

Same thing applies, Vincent. The publisher holds control over all that too.

Blizzard publishes their own stuff. Egosoft doesn't. That means DS controls the release of information, not Egosoft, be it 'devnotes', screenshots, whatever. And being around for as long as you have, I'd have thought that you'd know the drill by now. This information hiatus is no different, or longer, than many others during the development of past games. Wink

Yes I know what you mean, being small fish vs big fish etc.... May be Ego can take it to DS, as I think this is hurting their game popularity. We have had an influx of new X-ers since the release of AP, but it appears half of them has lost interest!!!!

Can we ease off on the multiple nested quotes please?

As long as the are workin on it. And make a good finished game, wich just needs its time. I wait. I don't want to see a half baked game now but something finished wenn its done. And it takes just a long time. And no need of a reality show where dev gives progress every day.
I guess the communication between Egosoft and DS might me bit frequent at least as there are milestones. Also building up much hype can back fire.
Promising features is also a problem with game audience.

Lot of games to play to keep me bussy waiting.
