There are some strange things in the X-Universe... some things stranger than other things...
I was once hanging around in President's end, just tinkering with the loadout of a Split Tiger that I own (And LOVE). When I decided to look at the sector map...
Found something in the ship list called "Unknown Object"...
Selected it as my target, and then looked at it via the camera (By pressing F3)...
It was a flying saucer....
I sit there looking at it thinking... "Am I seeing this correctly?" 
Before I fully realized what I was looking at It left the sector. I thought about having one of my M5s follow It, but shrugged it off and continued on with my business...
I am now an official witness of an X-Universe UFO... 
Anyone else have a WTF moment like that?

You're supposed to follow it to the UFO base. It's a randomly generated location, otherwise I'd tell you where it was.
When I got there I found an Advanced Goner Raider that could mount weapons. That was the weirdest part.

I remember leaving my game running for half a day while my ship followed the UFO and I read a book and my account and trade rank were growing.
It'd probably be longer, but... autopilot.

And no im not telling you how I know this.... 
Other than the fact i've been in every single solitary sector in the game and have explored each and every one thoroughly for the past two years... Thank you very much...

Wonder if they are making something special regarding UFOs for Rebirth. Wouldn't it be cool if there was an actual base in Rebirth, so we can joke it doesn't exist?

Well I sat around in president's end for a good 45 minutes... Usually Im in a sector for around 5-15 minutes... I guess you have to wait around in a busy sector for something to show up... 
That isnt my first encounter.. I've flown past one before...
Dont quite remember where that was though... It might have been in argon prime...
