It's Friday night and I have nothing better to do than read the threads on the OT forum, drink vodka and tonic, and listen to 80's music on youtube. Am I the only pitiful soul bound to such a fate? Please be kind.

Disclaimer: anyone who agrees is neither a pitiful soul, nor a fan of "s*** music," as some would describe it.

All of the above, except I'm a teetotaller (which in my opinion, is more pathetic than being a terminal alcoholic.)* Plus, despite having no social life and all of the free time in the world, I'm unemployed and failing college.

So I'm the most pathetic.

What do I win?

*Definitely not trying to say teetotalism is pathetic. It's the way and reasons I practice it that are.

The most pathetic for now. I'm supposed to start college Monday and my pell grant will pay for tuition, books, and then some but... I won't recieve the money for another month or so. Maybe I should take a class on how to pay for s*** with money I don't have, but I suppose that would require a fee as well. Funny ol' world in't it?

EDIT: Typo.

We have our social day thing on a Thursday though for some odd reason (even that's inside one of our flats with pizza and cheap drinks).

When did it become pitiful to have a quiet night in with a modest drink and bit of music? Razz That sounds quite relaxing to me.

Touche'. On another note, I find it really interesting that you gather on a thursday. During high school, my friends and I used to get together on thursdays for what we called "dirty thirty thursday." In the US(in my area anyway) Keystone Light is the cheapest beer available in a thirty pack, so we'd buy a thirty on thursday and raise hell until we had to be at school friday morning. Good times.

The true winner of this title would never admit it. Just saying.

IMO There's two types of teetotaller

a) The quiet sort, who simply fear/dislike alcohol and don't trust themselves
to be able to drink sensibly. This would be me.
b) The interfering busybody out to wreck everyone else's good time.
To be truly pathetic you would have to be in the second group.

Nothing wrong with Eighties music. It all went wrong in the Nineties.

Erm, to whose expectations are you categorising your Friday as pathetic?

If you utilise a certain age demographic and the supposed social norm of behaviour as by which you deem your Friday pathetic, then I would put yours as "normal" instead.

The generally observed behaviour of "young'uns" going out and getting as drunk as possible whilst telling themselves their night is "awesome" is, to me, not my cup of tea. It may be theirs, but I won't hold my own life choices to their expectations Very Happy I hold it to my own.

So, a couple of episodes of Homeland and a glass of red wine Smile Not adventurous by any stretch, but I don't feel obliged to go out every week, or every friday/saturday night of every week Very Happy

Hey I don't drink because it makes me sleepy .I hate to sleep because imo sleep is a wasted time.

Many of the old music groups from the 70's ,80's and early 90's still exists but they don't appear on TV or internet because now boobs and playback are important.

Meh. Youtube Schmootube

Better to buy individual MP3 tracks on line from various online stores.
I recently got hold of "Mississippi" by Pussycat from Amazon Very Happy

The highlight of my Friday night was going for a swim/sauna/steam room, not exactly sociable but better than doing nothing. Smile

I think I contracted the real flu, so I'm in self-impossed quarantine to stop
anyone else getting it. One of the few advantages of having no social life.

I just wish I knew how long it was infectious though.
