I am not asking the forum or Egosoft to solve this issue, just wondering if I am alone in this problem. I have played AP before Saturday with no issues, but on Saturday, and ever since then, I get a message from Steam saying the game is currently unavailable, try later.

Had no problems so far with starting X3AP. I'm running Steam mostly in Offline mode, though.
See this Steam FAQ for possible solutions to your problem.

I reading this message very often. Solution is, when you start game, be sure, your network connection is free. No torrents downloading, no watching youtube etc.
I'ts not only AP issue. Many games from steam showing this message when starting. BUT, on saturday was realesed patch 2.0 and many people are dowloaded this.

@ holgate_steve: I get that when Steam has not completed an update for some reason. Use the Steam verify gamefiles cache tool for the relevant game and then restart the Steam Client. That seems to remind Steam that you want them to finish the update so that you can play.

Thanks for the help. The verify files action did wake it up and immediately after saying all the files were up-to-date, it went on and installed the update. I'm up and running on 2.0 at last. Thanks again
