I dread to think of the processing power in your rig. With standard I core7 and 12 Gig Mem., I still can only use half a 24" screen and minimum resolutions all round to avoid freezes. Do you actually play the game at those resolutions or do you fly through space admiring the scenery and taking pictures?

Same rig you have ..... Twin gtx 260's running video ... I think it helps that the image is rendered as one giant screen, not 3 separate ones by the software. Close up, the left and right monitors do sometimes appear a bit stretched, but when I'm playing, I'm watching the front monitor so the left and right are in my peripheral anyway... it takes some getting used too lol.. I'll post a pic of my current screens and rig specs tonight or tomorrow if anyone's still interested....

Sorta related.

Multiple monitor setup, nav map set to turn up on one, other always on ship cockpit.

Is it possible?

Because early game, flying with the map always up on another monitor would be soooo much easier.

Later game, have your empire window open instead. Keep an eye on your minions whilst not walking into asteroids...

@ David Howland: How come you cannot use higher resolutions with an i7 an 12 gig mem?
I use an i5 and 8 gig memory and can manage max resolution on a 22 inch monitor. No freezes either. Thinking

Incidently I agree, TC is by far athe best game out there. I am still waiting for the retail version of AP though. I am patient. Smile

I don't know if that's possible or not. The set up I use doesn't change the game, so you can't do anything you couldn't do normally, it just gives you more viewing area.

Stretched a bit ,but does look good.

I don't like Stretched Resolution ,but that's my personnel opinion. But nice to see it on multi-monitor screen.

Yes greypanther you ask a good question about a raw spot,
I have been to the tech. forum a few times with this and other problems, they could find nothing wrong and operating on minimal resolutions and settings was their idea.
However today I am sending my computer back to the builders under its three year warranty for a new PSU, so if you have any bright ideas now would a good time to put them forward?

David, when the psu is installed do another Tech Sp thread with the new DxDiag etc and let some fresh eyes take a look at it. Good luck.

Don't forget to make sure your captain's chair can double as a toilet.

I just got the triple monitor stand and monitors in, and holy smokes this thing is big. I might have to get a bigger desk. Surprised

I'll try to post a pic once I get everything assembled. Very Happy

I've decided to go back to a single monitor; there's just too much distortion at 4:3 to run multiple monitors (for me, anyway). The fisheye effect is bad enough at 16:9; at 16:3 it is absolutely horrendous.

Any chance Egosoft will add aspect ratio adjustment for those of us not playing on a 10 year old monitor?

It took me a while of tweaking to get mine set up right... below is a link that takes you step by step through the process of creating a custom config to get a perfect render using soft th (If thats what your using... it's what i am using for mine..) .. you can never get rid of the fisheye effect completely, but you can reduce it quite a bit with the right setup.

http://www.kegetys.net/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=9fqcv2979baafupf8t7icg3qm0&topic=2966.0

You can also reduce it by tweaking your FOV in game apparently.. see below quote and link...

"These shots were taken in X3R using the hardware TripleHead2Go. For X3TC we added FOV control so that you could reduce the fisheye effect when using very wide screen layouts such as this."

http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?p=2796815

Hope this helped Smile
