You reckon cap ships will be as cool as this in rebirth?

heres to hoping for some real Nexus shield and combat effects

oh and some looong capital ship fights. In previously X games the cap ship fights sadly didnt last very long.

So even tho we are gonna be stuck in one ship, i really hope to see some really nice space fights with capital ships graphically

Oh wow... Those cap ship weapons and shields look really hot! The big torpedoes hitting the cap ship in the end as well. Lets hope we get a game with plenty of detail and looking good.

That video reminds me of another concern in XR. I wonder how the new destruction model is in XR, I hope it will be a bit more detail now instead of just seeing the ship vanish in a flash of light.

I'd never seen or heard of Nexus before this thread, I was really impressed by it. I did some searching and apparently the second game was picked up by another company and is in the works. You can help fund the game as well if you got money to spare.

The game is old by now. As its from 2004. But still, it shows what could be done then with graphics to make battles look really interesting. So i imagen that it can be better with the technology we got today.

Well getting on to 30 next year and not played a space game since homeworld 2 and x2 really oh well i did play sins for a bit. But most of all space games just got boring or taking steps back instead of forward gameplay or gfx wise. So speculating or wanting such and such is all i can do till XR is out and even then i probs duno if i would play it depends how casual it can be if i want it to be.

That is Dispora, a unreleased freeware BSG game made with the Freespace 2 engine.
And those videos are old, ill wanting to see them now that FS2 engine supports shadows....

mate, I really want to kiss you right now! Your comment got me into digging out the existing FS2 mods and I am replaying the main game right now with such nostalgia I cannot even describe! And with cool graphics too. Yay!
