Can I buy a legal X - Rebirth from you at release date without necessity to install Steam, which I can legally play and update as well like anybody else if I pay you 500,-- EUR?
If my english is not 100% correct I am sorry, but I guess everybody knows, what I tried to ask.

Will some ship upgrades change the look of your (Main) ship? (For exmaple: Upgrading engines makes them larger & Stuff) Or will it only change stats?
And will a fully upgraded ship difference alot (In looks) from the stock one?
(As a guy that saw buying a new ship as "Leveling up" & His only goal was to get better & Better ships, Hearing that you can only drive 1 ship makes me REALLY doubt if this game is for me, Having this question answered & If the upgrade flexibility is good enough I could change my mind a bit...)

True...The way this thread was worded, I got the impression that Bernd approved answering one question.pjknibbs wrote:I don't think anyone ever promised they would be, did they? It's not like the OP is Bernd's PA and can ask him to come along and pick a question to answer...Jerald wrote:Will a question truly be answered from this thread?
If that's not the case..it sounds like another ploy to get more information, and if so, that's not cool.

Will the Plot be Acted out more Professionally? no X game has a very well played out Plot. The Story is great but egosoft never did the plots so well, terrible voice acting an terrible script.
i'd really like to see a more Intense Campaign, something that can really get you into it. something more Dramatic and more Exciting.
alot of people says they dont even wanna bother with the campaigns. i dont blame them, Previous campaigns felt more of an Annoyance just to gain access to some things weather its for Aldrin systems. or the Hub etc.
i just hope you put much more effort in having a good Exciting Campaign worth playing through. just looking at all the fantastic new changes i have seen i hope means you also have a nice Budget saved for a very well professional team to act out the plots.

Is the AI significantly 'smarter' meaning the following behaviours:
1) able to fight or flee depending on the situation and odds
2) dynamically cooperates with nearby ships, even if they are not part of its wing, to form formations and defensive positions
3) dodges incoming fire before it is hit and does not fly directly at its target where this is not appropriate
4) blockades strategically important locations like gates rather than mindlessly chasing targets
5) utilises all the options available to a player, including the boost extension and strafe drive
Or does it still mindless rush at its targets and utterly breaks down in larger fleet combat?
This is probably the most pervasive shortcoming in the X games and the single attribute that could render combat in Rebirth utterly engaging or an utter joke

Re: Ask Bernd *one* question about this game
Hello everybody,
here are a few "runners up" and one winner at the end:
Seriously it is a whole different engine and a different implementation especially in all things AI.

But it is an unfortunate consequence from making a space simulation game in which you want to give people perfect freedom, that there is ALWAYS a long list of more features for the future.
and the winner question is this one:
here are a few "runners up" and one winner at the end:
They are real ships. Usually they would fly in "ordered" lanes but they can break out of these lanes and navigate through the stations.I wrote:What is with all those little ships shown in and around the stations in the screenshots?
Thanks to the new highway structures we can indeed create systems and sectors in which the player bridges large distances in relation to the next near planet or moon. These can be in any direction. So the answer is: Yes.Syock wrote:Is there any significant vertical axis being used (such as a solar power plant above or below a planet for a clear view of the sun) instead of the usual relatively flat layout were use to?
A lot.KloHunt3r wrote:How much has the AI pathfinding (auto-pillock) been improved since TC?

At the beginning of the game the plot will guide you more than in past games, but the more you play the more freedom you get and then you are soon free to play any role you like.PTR wrote:The plot is an important part of X:R. Are you forced into a specific role in the plot, or can you play it however you want, e.g. a pirate, hero, fighter or trader? How much is your freedom compromised by the plot?
We have no plans to include Chuck Norris. So probably: Yes.seldum wrote:Will it blend?
Yes, places to build a station have different resource properties. Sunlight is a good example for this. There are no strict limitations that result from this, but it changes a lot what makes sense to build.PTR wrote:Will there be a difference in efficiency of a solar power plant when placing one closer or further away from the sun[, and does this place limitations on building other stations]?
Actually it did change already. Pride of Albion was the name under which it was originally playing an important role in a war. Nowadays most people refer to it as the Albion Skunk, because there were some sanitary issues under one of the previous owners.Stars_InTheirEyes wrote:Can we change the player ship's name? (I don't like "Pride of Albion")
Hey, the way you ask the question makes it sound bad!Fulgrymm wrote:If X-Rebirth is financially successful for you, will you release an X-Tension analogue with the features that you didn't have the time and budget for?

If I would tell you it wouldnt be secret anymore?Cpt.Jericho wrote:Will there be a secret UFO base?
Yes.Graaf wrote:Can we have more then 2 billion credits in our wallets this time?
and the winner question is this one:
She was eventually adopted by a friendly Teladi and later married a nice mine worker. On their honeymoon they found a little known system, with the best high yield asteroids you can dream of, called Albion. The whole family moved there, and lived a happy life. Her stepfather even became an important figure in a large mining corporation there. But thats a different story.caleb wrote:Did the girl named Suzie finally find her parents?

Even though a space game without chuck norris is hardly acceptable (Bernd wrote:We have no plans to include Chuck Norris.

THANKS Bernd for your answering! =)
...I hope that this is only the beginning of a long, constant stream of information. No offence, but I hope you understand that this lack of information is/was hard to stand...
...at least for me.
Therefore, as i said: Thanks and good working! =)
