That's not much of an acheivement, honestly. Q's bad at fighting small targets. Try it in a TM: I once beat a Q by drawing its fire with my Pelican and letting my fighters do the shooting.

Has someone calculated how many IREs do you need in order to compensate for a Q's shield regeneration power, and take it out with those IREs only?

Not really much of one, but it's the first time I did it all by myself, without sector help(seeing as I was in a Xenon sector).

It's a fine achievement and it's definitely worth a celebrating beer or two, if you are of age!

I agree. It's not the penultimate achievement of Terran Conflict, but a first Q kill is definitely something to be proud of.

I remember my first Q kill... I destroyed it with my Sabre by scavenging a kill off a destroyer (forget which one now).

I captured a Q earlier this week and I've been using it to kill all kinds of stuff... Fairly fun ship but it does suck against fighters as was pointed out. I've loaded it up with wasps to take care of annoying M5's, but definitely need some Thunderbolts or Tempests on it as well.
