I did. Took a quick glance on each profile, started up some fight with the police. I don't know where to go first ;)
I'll start playing for real after I'm done with my tasks for today. First glance - amazing and totally new game. I was really bored with the same old ways, the same routines and lack of random factors in TC. this is gonna be a different twist and an experience.

Can I safely install another GUI than the one that already comes with XTC ?

Sorkvild - basically the XTC team cannot guarantee compatibility with things that change the game. What will likely happen is the mods people like that are out now will likely be reworked to be compatible with XTC.

You can try it and see, but if it screws up, drop the additional mod.

The icons are remapped, that won't work. You'd need a GUI with it's own icondata and so on.

Just for notice:
Cheat scripts package works fine (couldn't resist spawning ships for fun).


Does weapons sounds are finished, or they will get some change? Coz about 30% of weapons sounds like some lame 70s Sci-fi drama weapons sounds or toy pistol sounds.

Old Cmod and XTM sounds are OK, but other ones are, well, shooting frigate weapon and hearing peeew, peeew isn't just right :(

Does OTAS Castrum is able to dock only Corvettes? Coz I tried to dock with my M5 and got constant "landing denied" message.

Nice release guys! I am looking forward to trying it out (just uTorrent just completed downloading it for me).

Out of interest, is the XTC weapon/missile list complete (i.e. no anticipated additions - no details necessary just a simple one sylable answer will do)?

If so, I may start looking at XWRM - an XTC version of my AWRM. Don't know what it may offer over the base XTC yet except PMTS/CPLS and centrallised points of reselling perhaps - additional weapons/missiles will have to wait till after I have had some XTC playtime and got a feel for the current balance. At first thoughts based on reading the manual so far, likely candidate additions are cross-race hybrid weapons such as Terran adaptations of Xenon/Commonwealth weaponary for instance or visa versa.

BTW could you add a frigate HUD icon, coz vanilla M7 icon is the same as M8 bombers (or did you changed the M8 icon, coz I haven't encountered any of them yet?)

Yes it does but deactivate the auto update.
If brute force doesn't solve your problems, then you aren't using enough

I was a little disappointed at first that the full mod wasn't released but I guess it's a good thing because it lets me explore the X Universe and get to know it before embarking on the long journey of trying to do every single thing in the game (collect all ships, make all the different factories, get max reputation, take over all the sectors, ect.) I've been waiting over 2 years for this mod guys and been checking the forums almost daily for updates. Thanks again for all your hard work. I wish there was a way I could donate to you guys. You deserve AT LEAST an expansion pack worth of $ from everyone but I think you said that's impossible :(

My first death from the hand of puny Xenon N.

I was in my Rapier with two A-EMPC on a mission escorting two Baldric. N jumps in, I close by, shoot, shoot, shoot... low laser energy <HUH?!>, N launch missile <LOL>, missile hit me, no shields, hull 60% <WTF?>, N launch another missile <OMG!>, boom - headshot, I'm dead :o


Edit: I confirm that "Signal Boost" script (that exend comm, transporter device and some others range) works with XTC.

There may be no way of donating directly to the XTC team, BUT... I know the TXU web-site (the home of XTM and XTC) is always welcoming financial support. I am a TXU donor myself and it does give you some extra benefits on the TXU site while also showing support for the XTC/XTM team in general.

Disclaimer: This suggestion is off my own back as an individual and not as a representative of the TXU site. Also am I not a representative of either the XTM team nor the XTC team. My understanding is all the donations to the TXU site go towards the on-going costs and maintainance of the site.

I was quite amazed when I wanted to rob a TC. These guys are heavily armored right now and if you dare a salvo from HEPT can cool ya off :D

Great job, thanks for the mod.

On a somewhat related note: I once saw a file which nad a picture of the keyboard layout with all the default X3TC controls written on it, but I can't find it anymore. Does anyone have such a file? Would make planning hotkeys much easier.
