Unlock Game Starts
A simple solution to a much asked question, for those who don't want to go messing around with the registry.
Installation:
Extract the zip folder into your X3TC root folder, you should end with a director folder containing Unlock Starts.xml and modified.txt.
How to use:
Start a game, a message will pop up asking if you wish to unlock all game starts, select 'Yes, Unlock Starts'.
You can now exit the game (You don't need to save before exiting.)
You can now delete the Unlock Starts.xml from the director folder and the modifed.txt (make sure you don't have anything else that uses it.) - Or the director folder if these are the only two files it contains.
Start a new game - all the game starts should be available to be played 'Vanilla' or however you wish.

Re: [MD] Unlock All Game Starts
When I first wrote this, I remember setting the registry key to 0, restarting X3TC - all the game starts were still there. Going back into the registry the key was back at ffff, so didn't pursue it further...Jack08 wrote:or simply set it to 255Carlo the Curious wrote:Can't you just delete the registry key?dillpickle wrote:as testing requires un-installing and a full install....)
This morning set the key to 0, started TC, only the basic game starts available, ran the MD script - all starts available.
I can only put it down to the computer having a funny five minutes - as I'm certain it couldn't be 'Operator Error'...
