Yeah I'm very curious what has changed. The patch notes had something very vague about mission improvements:

*Fixed several minor mission issues

Really don't know what that means. :?

Alternately, you can eject Pearle, then transfer over the CLS, switch ships, and scoop Pearle back up.

I'm on the fixing the gate bits of the Hub mission. I have a TL full off Teladianium docked but can only transfer 4k into the Hub at once. No mission ping or anything, so I can't deliver the full 150k needed (patch 2.6). The mission briefing still has "Connect: Gate set 1" highlighted. Have I missed a step or is this a bug?

Transfer your 4k, wait a bit(just a few sec) and do it again till you have no more in the cargo.
The goods needeed for the HUB are automatically emptied from the HUB so you just need to wait.
SCUM : They may exceed you in number, but not in value.

Thx, a great guide.

and i just want to rant. the Goner mission to follow a blastclaw through Malestrom and an unknown sector is killing me with stuipdity.

i "lost" him in Maelstrom because i'd matched speeds but not lined him up correctly. so in the 93 m/s crossing of some 180 km, i was tending to business matters and not really watching him on screen. at some point while administering sector traders, i'd vectored off just a bit past 20 km and had to "wait" until someone spotted him again, even though, of course, i could still see him highlighted on screen

so, following him through the next Unknown sector has been even more fun. i can't just point at him and match speed because there is a Pirate Carrack and two Brigantines on my tail (as well as a couple dozen fighters). so not only do i have to maintain a safe following distance to this Blastclaw, i also have to swing these crazy elliptical loops to take swipes at this horde of ships behind me, who are all slowly overtaking me at this speed; take out a couple fighters, wear away at the shields of a carrack, and then swoop back and follow the slow-moving Blastclaw. but of course, i can't just go crazy and lay waste to the pirates because the mission will break and just leave me sitting in this sector waiting for them to get that i can still see the target before i pursue him.

as soon as i finish this 'following' business, i am going to single-handedly blow apart every pirate in this and the adjoining sectors!

I don't know what ship you're in, but I would use a fast M5 if I were you. That's what I did after not being able to fight hostile passers-by. I changed into my discoverer and re-tried the mission. It's much better to use a faster ship because you can easily outrun any hostiles, and then go back to following the guy.

Also, though I haven't tried it, what about just going to Gaian Star and waiting for him to arrive?

Hello, thanks for the walkthrough,

I'd just like to add a note about the Goner Plot: When you have to find that blastclaw ship and then follow it, at ~54Km/s I got to close many times and he noticed it. I had to take directions to find the ship again, but this time it was an eclipse, flying at ~169Km/s, and I thanked GOD I've falied the first time around, the whole long pursuit finished much faster.
and i just want to rant. the Goner mission to follow a blastclaw through Malestrom and an unknown sector is killing me with stuipdity.
Do as I said above, and you can't just follow him automatically, you have to maintain him in your radar, but deviate from the carracks. I did this mission in an Hyperion Vanguard, with turbo booster and easily got away from the carracks' shoots.

Bye ![/quote]

The Paranid fella from Priest Rings 'apparently' boarded my ship after paying and picking him up, then the guidance told me to take him to the hub, so I went there, and nothing. He's not showing on my ship menu, and he's not on the hub :?

I guess you mean Mahi Ma. When he says he'll "transfer" to your ship, he just flat out ejects his ship in a EVA suit, you have to scoop him up from space. Make sure you have Cargo Life Support and enough room in the hold then simply run him over to collect him, and THEN you can go dock at the HUB.

Maybe he is still there, jump back to the sector where you left him and look for Astronaut on the sector map list.

If all else fails, reload an earlier save and try again.

No, I said Paranid

Mahi Ma has already got two of the gate sets working.

I had to go to Priest Ring to find some Paranid Xenon expert, and give him a load of cash, then take him to the Hub, and when I got there, nothing happened.

Hmm, I'm having the same issue as Sleeze there. Paid then picked up the Paranid Xenon expert in Priest Ring and my mission updated telling me to take him to the Hub. When I got to the Hub I docked and waited for the mission to update but nothing happened and there were no passengers on my ship. I let the game sit for a while, probably close to fifteen minutes, enough time to make something to eat and eat it.

I even tried reloading to the auto save when I picked him up and I got the mission update to take him to the Hub like the first time, but still no success when I 'dropped' him off. The same thing happens when I reload my last 'salvage' save which I did after I picked him up when I gated into the middle of a pirate fleet in my little Paranid M5.

I'm absolutely stumped here, does anyone have any ideas on a course of action? If there's nothing I can do in-game, does anyone know of a mod or script that 'completes' the current mission?

Thanks in advance,
~K. McClain

well, i had this problem before, now i have it again. In PHQ plot, i get the message from Humi Wi, after that i'm jumping to ocean of fantasy, there's no blue book over the boron ray, but ok, who cares. After following that ship for 3 hours IRL and still i got only standart responses from humi wi (dock/shipyard/surrender), i've checked every station and every ship in this sector and there's only one humi wi in this system, on boron ray, and this squid don't have any response that will start the plot. I had this problem in my previous game, reinstalled, i've tried switching of mods, changing ships, going out of system and coming back-nothing. Seems like in my case PHQ plot wont start regardless what i will do to make it start. And i don't wanna cheat phq in...any advices?

Hello all!

I think I need some help, it looks like I've managed to break the Terran plot :(

I did the first mission on Omicron Lyrae and escorted the diplomats, and it moved on to the one were I am supposed to contact a person in Heretics end. At this point I went away to do some mining, trading and OFF missions. When I now come back I com the person and say I want to work with them, but I get no respons and an instant "Mission completed" message. I went to Uranus to find the next mission, nada. No guidence or mentioning of the mission in the mission list. Reloading dind't help.

I'm un-modded, with plain vanilla 1.7.1 and I did the whole terran plot on my last play thru, so there is nothing wrong with my install.

Any ideas?

Hey all, just restarted and have confirmed the location of the PALC in vanilla 2.7.1. (yes they do exist!)
They are at
Spoiler

Khaak Sector 841 when you jump in to get the flight data recorder. You will find 2 PALC floating in space near the flight data recorder and you can grab them pretty easily (I did it in a zephyrus after dropping five fighter drones to keep the khaak busy)
I love them - they look awesome and are pretty effective against anything up to M3.

Possibly something to add to the walkthrough for FF.
cheers

I have just completed the Goner Plot Missions in X3TC v.3 and have some observations to contribute regarding the helpful walkthrough here. I can see how come it is not often updated due to the enormous amount of time it takes to complete some plot/missions... so, here is some info for a potential update of the Goner Plot Missions. I am only advising of variation to the walkthrough, most of which is still accurate.

Note: Delivering the Ore, Silicon and Teladianium - all deliveries go to the Ozias. There is no communication with any Goner stations at all. Between each delivery completion request, there is a short wait before being contacted again (just in case anyone, like myself, may think the plot has broken or something). This means the Mission Guidance will close each time a delivery is completed.

1. (after the first batch of goods - ore and silicon) Jan Halion is on the Ozias, not one of the stations.

2. Once accepting the request to deliver the 3 TS ships, The station they are to dock at is 'active' and any UT's / ST's you own docking there first will be taken as the delivery - so watch out for this. Also if you rename any of the TS ships you are delivering to the Goners, they will not be renamed 'Goner (Ship)' - but it does not seem to affect the mission.

3. I can confirm the Truelight Seeker does not have to be boarded at all, just claimed. Repeat, leave your Marines at home.

Further observations about the this part of the mission:

1. Succesful claiming will appear in your Pilot Log, but the ship will not turn green and you will not have control over the ship, nor will it appear in your property menu. Let it go.

2. It will then fly to Elysium of Light and Dock at the Teladianium Foundry built by the player for the Goners there, and immediately on docking you get a message saying the ship is now yours as reward - even if you have not completed the mission yet. Checking the Telad. Foundry confirms the ship is docked there and is now green, and that you own it.

Note: I did not check to see if the ship was still invincible after claiming, (up to that point it is) so if not, then it is possible that the ship could have bad luck and be destroyed by Xenon entering Black Hole Sun, Treasure Chest, etc (I had a Xenon migration happening in mine, just as the TLSeeker got there).

3. It takes the TLSeeker almost as long to reach Elysium of Light (at 60m/s), as it does for the player to follow the BlastClaw to Gaiaan Star, which is why it appears as if you get it as an end of mission reward - it is not. The UFJD is the end of mission reward instead. You get the True Light Seeker for 'ahem'... 'rescuing' the astronaut guy from the Pirate Base (I think), but it may be nothing to do with it. In my case, The TLS was handed over to me as soon as it docked - I happened to be checking it OOS at the time. You get the UFJD after returning with the 'goods' and destroying the P.Base..... (Seems that way ... )

Last mission: Taking out the Enemy Pirate Base (delivering the Spaceweed and the Squash mines):

First off, only a single shipment of Spaceweed is required, (1x35 weed), you are requested to deliver another 35 after the first, but substitute the 60 mines instead.

There is no need to hack the Red Pirate Base from the friendly one: just do a close flyby to the Enemy base, comming the station dock manager, and your ship is scanned for the the onboard spaceweed, and you are granted permission to dock. (Request permission to land). A docking computer is handy if you are being pursued by reds. Do not include the squash mines in the first delivery or they may be detected in the scan, and your diabolical plan may be exposed (just my guess). On the next delivery, there is no need to request docking permission - the Pirate base is now friendly - just dock as normal.

These observations occured as Terran Defender, XTREME trade, Militant, friend with all races incl. Pirate and Yaki. Enemy with Xenon and Khaak.
[XTrilogy]: Holy Argnu cows! I have found it! An asteroid of pure ore - 100% - I am rich! Now, I just need to find one like that made from silicon. hmmm, where do I want to go today?
X REBIRTH? "JUST A TOURIST until X4 IS RELEASED! Because That SUPERNOVA sure went FUBAR" (Quoting T.Hawk. Read all about it at: http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=353678) :x3:

This guide was really helpful, I'd like to add some things

Target and kill. For good measure, kill his escorts as well.
I didn't manage to kill it, but someone else did while I wasn't in the sector. Maybe they got scanned by the customs patrol?

Terran Mission 6.

If Pearle is NOT on your ship, the mission will not start. If you are not getting mission guidance, then something is wrong.
For the newbies who started as Terran like me: a passenger needs 6 fee units of cargo

[...]
You want to come up next to it so close you can inspect the paintwork and run your keys along it, while Pearle plants a tracking bug. Once that’s on, 5 decafs come after you. Run like hell and jump to the next sector as fast as you can. Then float across to your ship and retransfer everything back.
Get yourself in parallel to one of the sides of the ship, so you don't have to change direction in any moment. Open the jump menu and let your ship get close. Start charging the Jumpdrive as soon as you see the text of planting the devide, it takes 3-4 seconds less than jumping.

Final Fury Mission 2.

Now hit maximum speed and go to the station. Try very hard to get there before anything can catch up with you. If your in a slow ship, rethink your ship ! Speed helps here. Shielding is good but if you can do this fast enough, you don’t need it.
I didn't find any ship fast enough AND enough cargo bay for 2 jumps, shields and satellite. So after 7 trys without any success (Kha'ak ships' speed is over 300) I just took my Sabre (170m/s), took away several weapons for cargo space, and bought 20 drones, dropping several everytime enemies were shooting at me.

Final Fury Mission 6 +.

Convoy missions didn't work until at least 1 of the ships was destroyed.

Final Fury Mission Final.

Get some long range heavy weapons for this. Using missiles is useless against the Kha'ak rays. Starting point of allied and Kha'ak fleet is slighty random. I was lucky at 5th try and one of the allies biggest ships spawned near a station, destroying alone the guardians and the station.

HUB Plot.

Note : His ship is without pilot and not moving, which means it can be claimed, and btw, it is invincible.
As soon as I gave an order the ship exploded

The Goner Plot starts in Elysium of Light.

Buy a foundry M (they did not specify which size to get), have it delivered to Elysium of Light, and drop the station right on top of the navigation beacon and your done.
In my game they didn't care for dropping the station like 20 km away from the beacon

Orders to fly to Wastelands and protect the Goner Truelight Seeker which is under attack.
Invincible. Shields will go down, but not the hull

This begins a slow trawl through 3 sectors, so get yourself positioned to follow about 12 km away and then go get some refreshments. The optimum distance is that 10km is too close and 18km is too far away. If you get too far away, your told you lost him, and then a little later get a new sighting report.

How hard this mission is will depend on your Pirate and Yaki ranks.
I made the mission as enemy of the pirates and militia rank (destroyers and frigates in the sector). Used a Cutlass for reasonable speed/combat capacity and kept myself 20 km far from the ship, but mainly over or below it to give me some distance from the pirates. I got a "you lost the ship" message, but the ship won't disappear like normal missions.

As enemy of the pirates you must be ready for some action at the gate in the next missions, but any other pirate ship patrolling around the bases or escorting a convoy will ignore you unless you get close (about 10 km), so is fairly easy to sneak in. Hacking the pirate station made it blue for me, but also red for some pirates, they went shooting the base all the time. Of course a bunch of fighters can't take down the shield.
