Converted profile for X52Pro users

Post by btsht23 »

Hello everybody,

I found a conversion tool for converting X52 profiles to X52Pro profiles. It's located at http://www.cvscorp.com/Saitek.html.

Just install and load the profile from the first post in this thread. The converted profile looks same as the original except it's for X52Pro :-)

Found it on the first go very quickly on Saitek's site. I give you navigation instructions rather than the direct links, because there are two versions posted (WHQL and non-WHQL) and a few warnings and additional steps for use under Vista. I don't know what OS you are using, so I don't want to blow up your computer by providing the direct link.

Go to:
http://www.saitek.com

At the top of the page, go to:
Downloads

Select:
Drivers and Software

Under Joysticks:
1. Select your product
2. Select your operating system
3. Click the find Drivers and Software button

Note: You need scripts and cookies enabled for their site in your browser, or you may not be able to navigate through the site correctly.

The server park is currently being migrated to new hardware. As far as I can see from here, the files are all there on the server. But as I said, we're in the middle of a migration and the non-commercial sites and such have a lesser priority than the sites which actually pay for the server park.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but it may take a forthnight or so before this whole migration ordeal is through. Provided our infrastructure provider doesn't have anymore layer 1 network failures.

I've moved the download to a different server (a cable in Arnhem was torn during digging works, let's hope they're more careful around Amsterdam). As far as I can tell it should work again.
Due to restrictions on the other server the file has been put in a RAR archive, so you'll have to unpack it yourself.

The link in the first post of this thread should now work.

Confused here. The op says that the profile is NOT pro, yet the one I downloaded here is.

No it isn't. The .pr0 (p-r-zero) file is just the file format of the newer SD6 programming software. This has nothing to do with whether you have a plain X52 or an X52-Pro.

Everybody says this X52 profile is the best :-)
Unfortunately, the site doesn't work anymore. Please, can someone help me to get this file and the PDF?

As I said 4 days ago, the server park where this is being hosted is undergoing an extensive upgrade.

The server on which these files are hosted does not have top priority in this upgrade. Please understand that we have commercial deadlines to meet first and that hobby things come second.

It'll all be back online soon, but it'll take several days atleast, maybe a week or more. We're working as fast as we can.

Edit: Update: Files should be back online, but no guarantees as to how long they will be we're still upgrading.

The best way to program your x52 is by neutrally and do it by yourself!.

1. Make sure you do your homework(how to program). Read all the instruction and try them in notepad.

2. Run X3 with x52 without any profile.

3. Try to play the game in explore mode. Be alert when you about to press something to give a command "watch your finger", one or more of your fingers will try to press something, but because you have not assign any button, the game will not respond.

4. Assign the command button to your finger and remember it.

5. remember to keep your profile editor opened so you can quick ALT+TAB to edit when it is needed.

6. I believe after 1-2 days of trying, you will have good profile which is suit your playing style naturally. After 1 week, you will have perfect profile. remember to keep constantly edit it.

7. Don't make things complicated. Example, supposed you are in combat mode and engaging the enemy. It will not be wise to assign your strafe drive (a s d w) to "the stick" since you will constantly use it to move around. Assign it to the POV on throttle side instead.

It might take sometime but i promise you, you will get perfect profile for yourself.

I only done this once back in 2005. Now i do it again because i lost my profile (Hdd died). And its about time since New series coming in.

ShadeFoster wrote:I am using SD6 have the profile activated and so on, I am having two problems as of now The Screen "pauses" when I pull the trigger or use some of the other buttons and after a while the input goes dead ... Also I think that not all functions are operating properly but as to the other issues it is not easy to tell at this time.

Thank you for this profile and I hope that this is all rather easy to resolve, I am guessing that the issue is with my lack experience with this game and this controller and not with the profile its self.

Thank you for reading and a hopefully swift response.

Update: The Pausing seems to be a key repeat fault which Buttons should I -Ignorejoy with this profile ? Also I felt I should say that none of these issues have happened without this profile.
Change the Trigger and Second Trigger from Ctrl to Left Mouse Button and the whole pausing issue goes away. You do not have to change DxDiag.

I am not sure but i recently downloaded the latest software and driver available for vista but it seem not working perfectly.

Sometime when i press too fast, there is no response even though the command can be seen on the MDF (mini display). I need to ALT+TAB to make it working again... i really no idea. I think the latest driver is not perfect.

Is it possible for someone to upload the profile and the PDF again ? Both links are broken :(

EDIT:

Never mind. I found the PDF on google cache and made the profile from scratch. :)

If anyone wants I'll upload it somewhere. This one is for the X52 Pro. I still have a problem: I can't get the Rotary 2 to work properly on the weapon groups.

It might be the rotary used for the weapons. I've made another, which moves the weapon selection to the T switches instead.

On some computers, the way I had to program the rotary for selecting weaponsgroups will somehow eat up all CPU time on one core.
It doesn't do so for me and removing the key-up parts of the commands makes the buttons stick on my machine.
So you could see if removing the key-up bit will fix the performance hit for you. I can't say for sure because it seems to differ per computer.

I have a few questions.

First, will this work with Terran Conflict? Are the controls similar enough?

Also, why does my game "pause" every time I try to fire my weapons? How do I fix this? I'm not exactly clear on that.

Other than the above, the profile is great.

Sorry to resurrect a year old thread but I thought I'd share (even registered to do so)

I was having problems with this profile and the X52 (NOT pro) causing lockups, blue screens, and overall badness.

Solved it by shortening all the named functions (Fire Auto, Next Property, etc) to less than 15 characters (I assume the max number of characters on the X52 MFD) and got it to work perfectly.

Just a little caveat for those of you having problems.

Enjoy!

Now I'm resurrecting this thread.

First, I"m glad I found it. I just switched from an X52 to an X52 Pro. And for the life of me could not figure out why the game was seeing the precision slider as the throttle. This was never and issue with the regular X52. I was getting ready for drastic measures, (and now I see they would have been pointless as well) but decided to see if Google could once again work it's magic. And it did, it pointed me at this thread. :D

It's odd though. I don't have to uncheck the throttle box with my X52, but I do with the Pro. Oh well, as long as I can use my new stick with the game.
