- bit techie, but I think you'll agree that ati have something extra-special up their sleeves with the forthcoming 10.3 driver.. 8)
- guess they're keeping tight-lipped about it, in case NVIDIA try to trump them.. :D

I have the new Crossfire profiler app installed - but it's hard to tell which games it's optimising, as it's all in code..

- I'm only running a single monitor, so it might be more obvious in a multi-monitor situation..
- but FarCry 2 seems better, clearer and smoother in play, as does Crysis Warhead..
- how much of this is due to the app or whether it's just the new driver, is anyone's guess at the mo'..
- seems ati are releasing info in dribs and drabs, via Twitter and Guru3D..
- looks like the 5000 series will get the biggest boost - 4000 series set-ups are included, though.. :)

hey, xeon - how do the 4870's respond..?? :roll:

scrub out the 10.2 version before you start installing, as the date on the 10.3 is 5 days earlier and this will cause installation problems..

- this 10.3 (review)driver with the Crossfire app installed is excellent

- FarCry2 even better than before..
- UT3 flows beautifully, very fast and ultra-smooth - gameplay is extremely fluid..
- Crysis (patch 1.2) brilliant in 64bit mode - running on maximum settings..
- Crysis Warhead plays flawlessly on maximum settings..

- all games at 1600x900 in full-screen mode..
- the whole universe is running in BETA mode - we're working on it.. beep..!! :D :thumb_up:

Yep. But the 10.3a preview driver is newer and contains more improvements than the final version does. So there's no need to upgrade.

A further update which now supports XP, Driver Packaging Version 8.712.3.1-100323a (dated 23rd. March 2010) as opposed to 8.712.3-100313a.

I'm running a 10.6 preview version at the moment - got it via Guru3D, I think - can't remember..

- it's got driver packaging version 8.74-100406a-098262E-ATI
- think it's scheduled for release June/July.. mostly optimising for 5000 series, but it runs well on the 4890's..

- the X3:TC v2.6 graphics look amazing onscreen - can't translate that too well via the jpg's though..
- loses something in the encoding process, I reckon.. :roll:

My motherboard is having enough fun with 10.4, it didn't like the previous set of beta's very much, it was made in 2006 and i think it is starting to show it.

As for your 'jpg' problem, you could try lowering the compression level.

had to do the scrub-a-dub on the old drivers again (..BETA's - bah!!)

these work really nicely in Battlefield BC2 - esp. with the crossfire profile..

For those who might be playing BFBC2, there are apparently loading issues with ATI drivers, 10.5 had a hotfix - sounds like they skipped adding it to 10.6 (again from what I gather).

Just a warning, I've experienced really slow loading times with 10.5 - installed the hotfix but have no idea if it works yet... not had chance to play :roll:
