Leaves a few hundred thou in the bank which I may tinker with... What was the decision on missile fire probability? Can we define it or is it default values?

Not a very imaginative fleet, but it's the sort of fleet I'd use in game, so I'm curious as to how well it'll do...

Just had a quick look and altho both the Panther and Falcon Hauler are the most popular in class, I don't think anyone else's fleet is just them.

Dead line for the fleets is the 16th, right? So the battles take place during weekend (17 -18th)?

Just thought I should point out that I've updated my fleet (it's hard to find unless you use the link in the first post.)

Anyway, simply wanted triplex scanners, original post edited and here's the pertinent details if you're feeling lazy.
Removed 5 Spectre Missile from Osaka and added 4 triplex scanners (1 for each ship) Total is now 249,883,595 with a total of 6405 left.

Edit: The video looks great now that you can see it in 1080!

With regards to the commentary...

Something you might consider doing would be to first insert a few frames before the actual battle detailing each team's layout (after the introductory frames saying "XFF I - Match n: Opponent A vs Opponent B"). Maybe say a few words with your best guess at the tactics that were supposed to be behind it. Then there's of course the actual battle - try describing the combat maneuvers: e.g. "..and the Springblossoms are flanking that Python... it certainly looks like a slaughter here, <team B's> fighters stand no chance against that amount of Flak fire" ... or something. Believe me, I have absolutely no spare time right now or I would help with the commentary :P

Re: my commentary. It might be a tall order to attach it to the video itself - first, I'm in Eastern Standard time and TJ is in GMT+4...

What I intended was for the commentary text to go just before and after the video post on the first page - with the debriefing text spoilered out.

So after each battle, you'd get a (spoilered out) debriefing along with the links, as well as a bit of preview text for the next battle. :)

We might want to be careful with the mid-video commentary - it might be too much, and it does take time to do.

To be honest, i dont think triplex's will make much (if any) difference, as the battleground is small enough you can see 90% without any scanner!

Seems just about everyone favors the Falcon Hauler as their M3 of choice with the next nearest being the Nova Raider. I'll still stand by my Tenjin's even though they cost nearly 7mil each (fully outfitted). I'm sure if the Venti was allowed that a fair number of people would use that ship, heck nearly 1 in 4 fleets are packing Solano's.

Nope, they're the (IIRC) rank 7 OTAS reward. They aren't purchasable in vanilla TC.

Aah, that's more like it! looks really good now - the first version was more for mobile screens. As for commentaries: Try to be your own self and think any ship as unique one or really expensive. When that Python went up I thought: That DID hurt!
Wehell, looks like we're more or less set and just need a few more fleets to go! (Though, if we got to 28 fleets we would need only an odd one to even numbers in round 2 (28/2=7 +1odd=8=1by1 final!)) 32 would, of course be cooler, but heck, if we can't get another 8 (if I'm not completly lost right now) 2 more should be possible in 4 days.
BTW: I was able to download the save after all -> it's my :evil: :rant: :headbang: :skull: provider. Ha, but I'm smarter then that lot :D

As for the Venti, like Blade mentioned, it's only awarded. The Sirokos on the other hand is buyable. :wink:

If the rules on what ships are allowed were different, I'd be adding in Advanced/Enhanced/Prototype ships.

If we don't have the full 32 fleets by the starting date I reckon the best thing to do is to use the idea proposed earlier by Tenlar Scarflame regarding letting the best of the losing fleets from round 1, as determined by the damage they inflicted to the winning fleet (maybe measured by the value of ships destroyed), participate in round 2. Think it should be as many as necessary to bring the number of round 2 fleets up to the optimal 16 fleets.

Think some of the battles may be very close results (some of the fleets look very evenly matched on paper) & if a fleet lost but the only survivor of the winning fleet was (for example) a single M5, then the losing fleet has done almost as well as the fleet with the single surviving M5 & therefore deserves to be included in the second round if needed to make up the numbers.

Well, let's wait how long the battles really take. The teaser fleets won't be in the tournament and I expect most fleets to last longer than 3 minutes! 16 battles on one day would be a load of work (don't forget, TJ's got to re-encode the footage, adding the some nasty remarks and upload everything to Youtube).
