So you don't get the below with viewer version 2.0.1.2 ?

[ external image ]

are you sure you're running the correct viewer executable ?
(the old version's installed menu link will still point to the installed version,
you'll have to place the 2.0.1.2 in the viewer's install folder and
run it manually, or make a new shortcut).

Invisible ships typically means that the game can't find the relevant textures,
but in this case the new 'eclipse' is using older cat file textures.
Maybe it can't find the model file itself (or you've got install interference
from your other xsp files).

For me just EclipseV2.xsp, installed with PluginManager created
PluginManager.cat/dat in the mods folder,
and also 10.cat/dat in main X3R game folder (is that expected ?) containing :
objects\ships\player\player_m3p_scene.bod & player_m3p1.bod

Body looks like a beefed up Argon Nova, but with Eclipse shields & stats.

Glad it's useful james_tom :)

YAY! I gixed it!

I think it had something to do with the way the PM works. If I remember right, I installed the M6's 1st, then the Eclipse when I found it.

I 1st removed all the extra ships from it. Then closed it down and restarted it. Next I installed all the ships again at the same time. So now my ship view looks like this

And the new Eclipse model shows in game to. So I'm happy! :D

Possibly, although it was only a minor inconvenience really. That and I'm using version 2.12 of his PM. I'll probably be told to update to the newest one, but I ain't gonna! :D

Back to your viewer. There is still one teensy weensy problem. :D Version 2.0.1.1 which is the version I use to view XTM ships, will not show the Centaur Mk III. All I get is this:

Any ideas, oh omnipotent one?

OK found that prob. as well here, thanks.

Fairly unique thing with XTM having a zero-sized bob-scene file in a later
cat file that got 'used' by the viewer (after viewer version 2.0.0.5)
instead of the correct earlier cat file pdb-scene file with the same name
(11.cat\objects\ships\MM6\Argon_MM6_scene.bob &
10.cat\objects\ships\MM6\Argon_MM6_scene.pdb)

Updated the original post with version 2.0.1.3 having accumulated bug fixes,
including all XTM and the introduced X2 laser position error.

Dare you to find some more :P

Never dare a fool! :p

Well, up till now. I cannot find any problems with this, except one. hehehehe Although, it's just a wee problem. (I could'nt help myself! You just had to dare me did'nt you? :p )

When I looked at the Pirate BlastClaw model (XTM) and clicked the 'show lasers' button, or whatever it'c called. The laser streams did not seem to eminate from the guns. They seem out of sync. If you know what I mean. Can't post a screenie of it just now. (at work) I'll see what I can do, when I get home though.

It's getting a little late so I only opened up the program to see if I had to tell the program where my X3TC game folder was for the umteenth time. It didn't ask me!!!

That is the only 'bug' that was bugging (ugh!) me. Thank you for this awesome resource!! I use it every time I buy a big ship or a big batch of smaller ships!

Just a heads up. if this mod is loaded: link viewer hangs.

i believe this is due to the fact the modder removed all ID numbers from the x3_universe file.

Can't remember fixing that persistent registry problem festa_freak,

Will check it out draffutt,
btw did you get my last email a little while back, about raw mode vs working with multiple extracted mods?
Lost my outlook pst file when my PC decided to dump my user setting, so lost your address.

I have to say, this viewer is great, it comes in really handy to both see what rare ships look like, as well as the fire arcs for every one :D

error: The program can't start because d3dx9_29.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

Installed above .dll-- save to windows>system32 folder

then ran regsvr32 d3dx9_29.dll but got this error:

The module "d3dx9_29.dll" may not be compatible with the version of Windows that you're running. Check if the module is compatible with an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of regsvr32.exe

I am running Windows 7, 64bit. Therefore, I tried running regsvr64 d3dx9_29.dll but that didn't work.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks.

Lucky I popped in here - didn't get any notification of last 2 posts

pepperg, sounds similar to what "[Pirat] Black Falcon [X]" & Troglodyteus were experiencing

Can you follow the instructions at
http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php? ... 57#3015857
& see if that helps ?

draffutt - I never know myself, I'd better get on with fixing some of the bugs you've found
(after I've done that Xvid - still can't get the Sunshine theme out of my mind)
