Well its approaching that time of year againand people have begun asking what I might like for Christmas.

Usually by this time of year there's a whole build up of big games releases that I could probably reel off as potential presents (and then due to technophobic relatives, get socks instead but I digress) but this year theres almost nowt.

Brief look at gamespot (Oh and see if you can spot whats common to most of them! Very Happy):

Games I am interested in:
Dragon Age: Origins, has been getting excellent review and is out already.
Crysis 2: Release Date: TBA 2010
Mass Effect 2: Release Date: Jan 29, 2010
C&C4: Release Date: TBA 2010

Not that bothered but big names:
Assassins Creed 2: Release date : Q1, 2010 (This month on consoles)
Bioshock 2: Release Date: Feb 12, 2010
Starcraft 2: Release Date: TBA 2010

That's all I can see. . . . . all after Christmas, whats up with this year!? Its not just the PC market either, as far as I can see Assassin's Creed is the only one showing a bias towards the consoles.

I've kept seeing Gratuitous Space Battles crop up (there is a demo out now)... these days the indie scene might be worth watching, you're unlikely to see some of their products on consoles.

I'm really not looking forward to much this year, I've taken to a new case (as in Bug's thread), more music to expand my small collection, Left 4 Dead 2 being the only game really appearing there - and even then that is a preorder I have made myself.

Most games want to come out after Christmas thanks to the likes of COD:MW2, plus I guess it releases some of that stress buildup for the staff making the games pre-xmas period.

I'm still hit quite hard from Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, while its a good game it really needs some improvement... starting up co-op missions only to have someone drop out/crash in the middle is a pain, there is no join-in-session... bad design flaw right there.

Don't forget some of those earlier releases in the year you might have missed, such as Call Of Juarez: Bound In Blood if you like your westerns, though I can't vouch for it.

Modern Warfare used to be on this list but no server support = no money from me.
