I know a big gun would kill an M6 in a few shots but by the time the charges do reach one of them the rest bring down my shields. (I'm using an M2) Is there a truly effective way to bring down a 10-15 M6 ships?

PSG's, missiles, and Squash Mines. Try using an M7M, they work wonders.

Springblossom with PM/AM launchers, PSSCs, poltergeist and spectre missiles.

It will make you feel like a ninja in a group of bad guys! Laughing

Depending on if your M2 is terran or commonwealth. Flak Artillery Arrays (commonwealth ships), Starburst Shockwave Cannons (terran ships), Concussion Impulse Generators (commonwealth ships), Matter-Antimatter launchers (terran). If you are having low weapon energy problems try High Energy Plasma Throwers instead of CIGs.

There are lots of weapon combos that can be used on an M2 to kill groups of M6's easily.

If its an M2 that I will personally fly then I put the biggest anti-capital guns in the front and right turrets, and fill the rest of the turrets with the guns I named above.

Which M2 are you using by the way?

I've only managed to capture the brigantine so far but the people on the russian forums say best ones by far are the tyr and OTAS ones but since patch 2.5 I don't think I can get a tyr so will probably just buy the OTAS boreas.

Edit:
I really like the idea of having main guns only on one side. But do I go for Ions or rail or just PPC. Also what command for the turrets , just attack enemy?

And what's the difference between defend ship and missile defense. and why doesn't attack enemy also attack missiles - that's a really bad overlook.

One of the problems with flying an M2 is it is just a big target and hard to miss. Any M2 can get overwhelmed if there are too many ships to deal with efficiently.

Heres a good Brig loadout but there are plenty of variations you can use also.

PPC's are fine for front turrets and one side, but Gauss cannons on the side will save you energy for the Flaks and CIGs to continue firing.

Front - PPC's set to attack my target, use the range advantage of these to kill any m6 or larger as soon as it comes into range.

Right Side (or left or both even if you want) - Gauss Cannons set to attack capitals or attack my target. No weapon energy used with these and the ammo lasts a long time, great damage and fast enough firing to hit (and kill) M6's. Attack Capitals will still shoot M6's.

Left Side if you dont want or need Gauss on both sides - CIGs set to attack all enemies. HEPT is a slightly weaker alternate but cheaper and more available and will save energy.

Back - Same as left.

Top and bottom turrets should be filled with Flak Artillery Array for fighter and M6 crushing insta-hit damage. Set turrets to attack all enemies or protect ship. Turret protect ship waits for enemy fire to hit you before firing back. Attack all enemies does not wait.

With a M2 you dont need to worry about missiles hitting you except maybe the occasional firestorm or hammerhead. If you see one coming at you you can target it and shoot it or launch a missile at it or try to set your turrets to missile defense.

Brigantine is low shielded for an M2 so jump away to a gate if your shields get low (around 30%) and there are still lots of enemies swarming around you. Launch lots of missiles if you have them from long range to soften up the enemy forces before engaging with your ships turrets. Fighter drones are great and can be used to distract some of the enemy fire and keep enemies from concentrating fire on your ship.

Hope this helped, good luck.
