|
|
Hey Folks. I'm not much of a techno wizard here, but Kaspersky says I haven't removed AVG8 whilst installing Kaspersky Internet Security 2009. I've got rid of the AVG stuff ages back, but it still says it won't install because of 'AVG8'. I've searched for Grisoft and AVG files, and the flipping Avg files seem to be hiding from me. Does this mean that I have to get my computer wiped? It doesnt really bother me if i have to, at least i can get at least 70GB added and Vista. This Computer is very old. It's only had 32GB.

tru downloading a free program such as ccleaner that will scan your registry for any out of place files and delete them if they dont belong. That might help

I scanned the registry and applications, but it still says AVG 8 is still there. Thanks for the help anyways.

Well you could go into the registry and delete anything Grisoft / AVG related.
You'd be better off with the free AVG9 than paid for Kaspersky though.
You can get the AVG removal tool and other tools from Here if you want to go with Kaspersky though.

- does AVG9 work with 64-bit Windows7, I got a warning when I tried to update
- didn't want to risk it, so I went back to vers. 8.5
