(MOD RECUTMENT) StarTrek Total Conversion
Seeing as a good time as any here is an outline of what i plan to do with your generous help.
>Stage1(ships)<
we will try our best to build and create most of the ships for the following races. which will be used later for replacement and plots(probably not).
>Terran>Federation Ships
>Teladi>Ferrengi Ships
>Xenon>Borg
>Kha'ak>Dominion
>argon>romulin Ships
>split>Klingon ships
Unknown>various random ST ships that will wander the gallexy just to get caped
>Paranid>undecided
>Goner>Vulcan

First off, a little warning. Most people on those sites do not allow people to use their work without their permission. Make sure you have that before you proceed to use anything, including images of the objects.

Would love to see a quickly developed total conversion, stations, ships missions, textures, weapons etc.
Its a big job and requires 3d max which is one main reason i didnt do this myself as im a lightwave modder.
But i suppose as long as you get permission then there are ready made trek models out there that just needs converting. Personally i dont care that much about quality i.e has to be x3 type quality. Long as they look ok and are high enough poly and not too low poly then it should be a good experience.
Best of luck. I dream of flying a miranda in x3 game with full trek universe to explore and it has to have authentic weapon gfx and sounds as models only with default x3 weapons would SUCK!!!.

im trying to get permisions but it apeirs they have been downed by a virus or tenical error as the entire site is just unstable!
Another thing is i dont have 3d max so i cant convert the files to gmax. but if worse comes to worse lucas arts is usualy cooperative

OK i don't need permission i don't think as long as i don't sell it, or distribute it on a pay site. i just have to make every thing from scratch!

i'd be interested in doing some modeling, though i'm not sure if there are any special stuff that is needed for the modeling process, but i'm pretty good at laying down meshes. i can model whatever as long as i have good drawings. full on schematics would be best. i don't think the majority of the ships will be all that hard, though some of the non-federation craft could be tricky. sounds like fun to me actually.
