The X3 Handbook version 5 for X3R and TC is now complete and ready for download.
398 A4 pages in pdf format. Approx 7mb zip.
Additions for Version 5 :
* New Home Plot Walkthrough, by Spychotic
* False Patches, by EmpororJon
* All Plots Complete, by dillpickle
* Plots Reset, by Ketraar
* Enable Plots in Custom Start, by Ketraar
* Thread : Words of Wisdom
For simplicity sake given this is a minor update from version 4, mainly for the New Plot added in TC v2.6, the additional material has been added in its own section at the end of the Handbook.

Hello apricotslice,
i was looking over your guide and except for one mention of the treasure hunt quest reset link. i don't see or find the treasure hunt quest walkthru that was introduced with the 2.1 patch (i think it was that patch). you seem to have walkthru's for the rest of the quests.
do you plan on adding that at some point unless i am blind in my search?

I've always been in 2 minds about it.
I dont consider it a main plot myself.
And for me, its impossible to do without a walkthrough, but at the same time, reading the walkthrough simply spoilt it completely. Having read it, I see no point in doing it.
Hence on the one hand it should be in there with the walkthroughs. On the other hand, to have it so easily readable will spoil it for many people who would otherwise have not have needed it. On the gripping hand though, your right, its not complete without it.
At this point though, I had actually forgotten all about it.

Actually, its a pretty simple upgrade.
I got bogged down the first time I did it, slotting things in where they should be, and it scr*wed up the formatting so much I couldnt be stuffed getting it to work.
So I went back and simply added the extra names into the contributors list, added the extra stuff into a new contents on the bottom of the contents pages, and then added the new stuff as a block on the end. Only the last 2 pages are the same with the new stuff added in before them.
So to copy to version 4, grab the front 2 pages, the last page of contents, and the block of added stuff 2 pages in from the end.

All done. It was just a case of opening the old version and using the replace pages function and then appending and bookmarking the extra pages (all the bookmarks and links stay in the same place).
v5.01 is all yours.
