Wanton use of nukes and the path to galactic conquest!

Oh, okay, I'll keep it just between us.

That might make this story short
Hate to throw an OxyWrench into the works here, but stations don't give out free O², or any O² for that matter. It's find a ship or die.

Two hours, I think. Last time I did it, I had enough to get from Argon Prime to Menelaus Frontier. I could've claimed THAT ship, if I was playing that way (I wasn't). But I died before I found either a beat-up ship to buy or one to retrieve. I seem to recall it was two game hours, but it could've been less. I used SETA quite a bit to shorten the real time.
And yes, I said SETA. I'd ejected it from the starting ship before I sold it, and collected it in my 'suit. Also a Duplex Scanner and a trading system extension. Mustn't go unprepared, after all. Now if only there'd been spare oxy tanks somewhere.

Through a combination of the terms "Area of effect" and "Hammer Torpedo" I once successfully managed to take out an M7M, if you are having to make your own missile defense, your space suit will do it admirably.
I was also wondering, if you got those damaged ships that sell themselves to you, could you make it bail under excessive repair laser fire
?
I have to say though, you should properly fill out your last contract and finally capture an Osaka that lasts for more than 5 minutes

Wonder what being catapulted into a higher dimension wearing naught but your space suit feels like. Something like being turned into pure photons, smooshed through a little hole in the universe and then accurately reconstructed on the other side?
Although I guess it feels about the same when you're in your ship. Just, you know, more photons around you at the same time.
Also, anyone want to spoiler me which ship he's trying to get to?

I'm not sure he's trying to get to any of the freebies. It's not generally the N-S way. His only other choice, given his funds, is a retrieve ship mission. Of course, when I start those 'spacesuit' games, I sell off the starter ship and consider those credits to be my current bank account. N-S, aka 'Steve', seems to have opted for the hardest way.

X-Universe denizens don't carry cash, they carry a 'credit' card and all their funds are electronic in nature. How else would you rationalize the player having a billion or so credits on their person at all times, even when using the repair laser?

04 - Vertigo
Aw, man.. that's just nasty. As if I don't have enough enough problems now my helmet stinks of semi-digested food-rations (I personally never considered them to smell too good undigested). I guess that's why you don't hear of too many people EVAing thru jumpgates, unpleasant side-effects..
Safely into Heretics End tho and I'm just about to squawk my position over the emergency channels and request a pickup when a horrible thought occurs to me, as part of the G'Yvr clan (albeit unwillingly) I could well be a wanted fugitive here as well. In truth my employer was never particularly discriminatory regarding whose ships he'ld plunder and I don't think "He made me do it!" is really going to cut it as a defence. Fortunately in addition to being handy with a carbine my forays into enemy ships have taught me to be pretty handy with a hacking tool, so if I can get to the Trading Station and just access this panel here..

.. I should be able to patch into the internal comms system.
Interesting. Not particularly encouraging unfortunately, but interesting nonetheless. Nothing specifically "Kill Leo", just general notifications to beware of pirate activity. Apparently this station is under ransom from a small pirate clan threatening to destroy it unless they cough up some protection money, so I don't think I'll be stopping here for long. However accessing the nearby SPP comms traffic it seems someone has lost a ship recently and needs it recovered..

.. The good news, that would get me a ship. The bad news, they'ld probably expect it back at some point. And it's in Scale Plate Green, which is a notorious place for Xenon activity. And that's three sectors away. And that means at least four more jumpgates to pass thru. Urgh! I'm not sure my gag reflex is going to survive that level of provocation..

Ewwww!!
one more reason to get out of that space suit as fast as you can.
I see your game is kind enough to inform you what ship it is you'll be recovering! Mine's never done that... has there been a patch released since 2.0 that changes it?

Anyway, continuing to copy down your story and replacing links with the pictures, that ok NS?
Oh, and fixing a few minor typos, don't know who taught you to put
