Yeah, nope lol. the character name change isnt working for me, it just opens the player menu, do i need to be docked? or any other stipulation? ive tried with both the script enabler, as well as just trying to change my name. ive also disabled the enter key as the player menu button, but it still opens it, lol. any thoughts, ideas?

I'm having trouble enabling the script editor.

When i try and put in Thereshallbewings as my name, and press enter, it opens the personal menu, and doesn't do anything with the name editor window...

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? And how to fix it?

Most likely, you're typing the "ll" part too fast.

The type-rate in X3 is, crap.

Try it slowly. I'd bet you're entering "thereshalbewings" with one "l".

If there's a pause and your pilot name does not change then it worked - you should be able to open the SE with shift+c, s.

If your pilot name does change, you typed it incorrectly.

When i press enter in the name change window, it ignores the window, and opens my personal menu....

I've checked the spelling, and its right...

Sounds vaguely familar. Have you rebound the enter key to something else?

Nothing that wasn't default. I tried unbinding it from opening the menu...

What option is responsible for accepting changes?

Right now, the only thing Enter is binded to is "Select Option"

Hehe that is a problem that happens to me also several times but with other windows.
I bet you used the 'Enter'-Button on the Numpad. This one is bound with the sidebar on the left side.
Don't ask me why, i guess to improve the speed to interact with the sidebar, or so that you need no mouse to interact with it.

Try to use the 'Return'- Button on your keyboard when you want to accept your changes.

Every sticky/script says I need to change my pilot name to this... I got referred to a sticky that says to open my pilot name menu

but nobody says where it is... where is it? I've checked (i thought) all the menu's in game and I can't find this command anywhere

The game will freeze for a brief period and your name will revert back to what it was before typing "Thereshallbewings"

You can check to see if it is working by going to the command consol of the ship and scroll down and you should see script editor. Which isn't there if you don't do this.

I installed Cycrow's download. and changed the name to the thereshallbewings thing and saved then exited and restarted the game from the day before, I can't get the cheat screen to show it's face, what am I doing wrong?

when you type in the game be very patient... dunno why but the game recognizes typed letters only if you type very slowly.
hold down the Maiusc, then press the t, slowly and with grace, and the game will recognize it.

p.s. don't triple post... use the Edit button...

look in the command panel of your ship, you will notice a new entry that is called "Personal", into it there are the cheats.

After you typed in Thershallbewings, what exactly happened ? Did your pilot name remain the same or change to that ?

The usual problem here is not getting the double l in, even though its typed.

The other thing after getting the editor started, is to save and load the game so the cheat script can initialise.
