Anyone? I just built a new PC and am wondering if it's worth it to install windows 7 or just stick with XP. ( I have 8GB of ram, which is why I'm asking )

I'm failing to see what difference does it make.

What you really wan't to ask is which of those you want to have as 64bit. (ofcourse XP 64 bit is going to cost you and W7 64 bit is free for a while)

Yes just need to download the latest version of tages so the copy protections works.

I use it on Windows 7 64bit without a problem.

I use Windows 7 64bit as well. The beta had some issues for me but the RC works great

It works great... I've been using it for a few weeks.

There is an ongoing topic here about peoples experiences with X3TC on W7 so far.

Thanks, this really helped, I actually reinstalled X3:TC trying to get round this, hopefully it'll work now. Oh well, at least its freed up some space on my old hard drive now that its installed on my new one.

But could anyone tell me where the save files are stored on Windows 7, so that I can put my save and so on back where it belongs.

They're in the same place as in Vista.

Unless you moved your User profile folders, they'll be in "C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Egosoft\X3TC\save"
