Where is the Saved Game Folder in Vista

Post by jradcliffe »

Hi, I just installed X3 Reunion on a Vista Home Premium Edition 64 bit, Laptop.

Iinstalled te game, installed the 2,5 patch (using 1.0+->2.5) and then installed the bonus pack.

the install went fine, and I ran the game with no problems, svaed and exited the game, again no problems.

But now I want to place my old saved games in to the newly installed saved game folder, I can't find it.

Vista is setup alittle diferent the older versions of windows, also somehow the folder are diferent, under Program Folders it in a folder Deepsilver.

Again the game is working but where is the My Documents\Egosoft\X3\save folder? in Vista :?

It's basically the same under Vista, except the folder is called "Documents" rather than "My Documents". The full path is normally "C:\Users\username\Documents\Egosoft\X3\save" where username is obviously your Vista username.

Hi, thank you, but no it's not set up like that at all, maybe it's a Gatway thing.

This is the way it shows up:

C:\Users\username\Document\ (that's it, nothing, empty)

Should I reinstall?

It is set up like that, and I think it's pretty unlikely that Gateway have changed it. You might have done, though, if you've changed your Windows settings to relocate your Documents folder to some other place. I can only think of one other possible reason why you can't find the files, namely that you're looking in the folder for the wrong username. Are any other files you've placed in your Documents folder there or is it just the savegames that are "missing"? One other thing you could do to find the files if all else fails is to do a full search of each of your drives, looking for any file called "01.sav".

Note that it will be the user you're running X3 as - if you're running as Admin for some reason, they'll be in that user's documents.
