The external TS dock also accomodates TP. I need to test TM, it's very likely that all three will work with the same component. In fact, I think they work for fighter class ships too (need to check).

Which would in essence, give you 1 external clamp for M5/M4/M3/TP/TS/TM.

M1 1 - 2 TS

I think I'll leave it as:
1 TS/TP on TL/M1
1 TS/TP on M2/M7 with 1 fighter clamp

A fighter clamp on an M6 would be redundant.

I was kind of hoping for 2 externals M1,M2,M7 so M8's could be used in my wings.as an M8 is technically about the size of an M6. :wink:

I'd like to buy 10 freighters at a shipyard and just stick them straight onto my TL ready for some factory building.

1 TS on other capital ships would be a bonus.

OP updated with where things are at.

That said, I can't seem to figure out what clamp applies to the M8 or the TM class ships...

That's another headache for another day though.

TL/M1/M2 done, M7 to go.

Yep. They do now. I edited the TS dockport, which now will dock anything up to an M6.

M3/4/5/6/8 & TP/S/M.

Very good idea. I'm wondering why Ego didn't add this feature "automatically"... It was one of the first modifications in X3R...

My Idea is:

TL: 2 TS/TP/TM/M6 slot
M1: just one TS/TP slot
M2: one TS/TP/TM/M6 slot, plus 1-5 fighters (internal, in hangar)
M7/M8: one TS/TP slot.
M6: one fighter external slot.

Bertone, that's pretty much exactly what it is now, except the M6.

I figured, since the M6 can dock at all stations, the addition of a fighter clamp is redundant.


That said, I think I've gotten all TL/M1/M2/M7 scenes modified.

Fwiw, the M8s aren't very big. A TS docked to one is silly.

So, the way it is now:

TL: 2 external TP/TS/TM/M6/M8 (clamp also allowes for 1 fighter also)
M1: 1 external TP/TS/TM/M6/M8 (clamp also allowes for 1 fighter also)
M2: 1 external TP/TS/TM/M6/M8 (clamp also allowes for 1 fighter also) + 1 fighter (M3/M4/M5)
M7: 1 external TP/TS/TM/M6/M8 (clamp also allowes for 1 fighter also)

M6s and M8s are unchanged.

I'm hoping to get the last few tested so I can upload it, so people can give it a shot.

What I'm curious about most, is if it'll work with an existing game.

I have a hunch it won't, due to what I've seen. But, there may be a way around it.

Well with X3R all that was required was to 'respawn' the ship for it to recognize it had the docking added. It was only because an existing model wouldnt have the docking ports themselves.

So their should be a simple solution, A) cheat and respawn your ship B) buy a new one C) reverse engineer your old one and procude a new one.

Let me know if you have any issues or ideas to refine it. It's not perfect, but all ships were tested and worked (thus why it took so damn long).

Nice thanks! Looking forward to updating my Cerberus.

BTW will this work on added ships? Or did you have to mod ships by hand for this? I added 171 new ships and just wondering if this take those into account by size or if they will not change.

I got my game save to continue by being out of sector that had any changed ships in it.

However Fud I found 2 small bugs:
  • if you change to the externally docked ship it does not undock and leaves you in limbo. (no biggy really undock then teleport or eject and enter will suffice I think)
  • M6 Heavy Centaur clips body of ship its docked to also no biggy!
But both I perosnally can live with nice work Fud :)

**Edit** Can this be ran as a false patch?

I'm using it as a false patch.

As for the limbo thing, I tested by ordering ships to dock to them.

I didn't try too many while actually being in the ship.


Like I said, it's probably not perfect.

Just reporting fud. I dont think that work with saved game, at least not with mine. Try to dock a mystral in a Mammoth, the ts manouver into position and then stop. I wil try tonite again desinstalling and installing again. Let you know.
