[SCRIPT] Destroy Target - HOTKEY

Post by Graxster » Wed, 22. Oct 08, 20:06

Made a little script that will destroy your current target and has an assignable hotkey. Place in scripts directory, run X3TC and go to Controls > Interface and scroll down to the bottom. Assign a key, and use very carefully or you'll end up having to reload a saved game, hehe. I use a combo of keys myself (Shift + K in my case, for KILL). Enjoy!

Can you destroy gates with this, like you could with X3R?

(more of a precautionary FYI than anything)

Yes, you can destroy gates, and anything else you can target.

Do not open the script, or even go into the script editor. Just go to Controls > Interface, and scroll down to the bottom. There you will see Destroy Target [not bound]. Click that and select your key assignment, then click Apply.

i cant get this to work (this game hates me to be honest)

Capped a viper on a mission and sent it off to dock at the nearest station to be safe only for it to die every time by an osprey that comes into system (second wave of the mission i guess).

Ive extracted .rar files to "C:\Program Files (x86)\EGOSOFT\X3 Terran Conflict\scripts" loaded game, gone to "Controls > Interface", and scrolled to the very bottom and zip, nada nothing there. What have i done wrong, or failed to do ?

Have you activated the script editor? Should be in the readme. You need to do that and save after activating it, then reload.

Install in your X3 Terran Conflict\scripts directory.

In-game, go to Controls > Interface, and scroll to the very bottom.
You'll now have a Destroy Target slot.
Needless to say, you need to be very careful and not press whatever key
you assign accidentally. If you do destroy something by mistake, you'll
need to load your last saved game. I use Shift+K (for KILL). Enjoy!

Follow the instructions in the sticky at the top of this forum to activate the script editor.

Rmaccc is right there is no option at the bottom of the interface for destroying ships the last option is Build station rotate b axis neg

I have activated the script editor and if I go into it the very first script is cheat.destroy.target V1 so it can obviously see your cheat is there but there is no option to use it.

Either there is a crucial piece of information missing from your installation instructions telling newbies how to use your cheat (ive never used a cheat before) or your script is incompatible with version 1.3 of the game.

I just installed this, and I could set the hotkey without any problems. Just destroyed a few things to test it out.

Finally I can go on a spree and get rid of all those station debris I see no point to in this game ;)

Somebody should make a script that gets rid of all that ship/station debris.

I'd like to use this script but I have the Steam version. How can I enter this script in via the games script editor?

If I used this on a hostile Argon capitol ship, (Titan I think), in Argon Prime, would I lose reputation? Also do you need to be in sector for this to work?

Thanks ::

tarostar

Default install directory location for Steam users

Code: Select all

c:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\x3 terran conflict (default)

Scripts in c:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\x3 terran conflict\scripts

Text files in c:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\x3 terran conflict\t

Mods .cat and .dat files go into Steam\SteamApps\common\x3 terran conflict\mods
virgil

it's a hotkey so it would be whatever your tracking aim is set on meaning in the same sector

as for rep loss it won't set the killer as you so it should not
