[EXTRA] Star Trek Ships and some StarGate

As some of you know, I have been working to get a few extra Startrek ships in to X3 useing Gmax. I downloaded most of these modals from Trek Meshes or SciFi-Meshes and I have made .xsp files for your enjoyment, so you will need Cycrow's legendry Plugin Manager to add these ships to your game.

I would like to thank the people from www.trekmeshes.ch and scifi-meshes.com for offering the free modals to download.
Also, I would like to thank all of the people that helped me get these ships working in the game.

USS Prometheus-3+M2

The *Multivector Assault Mode* dose have a small issue with Separation :!:
Docking Procedure: First dock the BS (Bottom Section) to the TS (Top Section), Then dock the TS to the SS (Saucer Section). Docking computer recommended but not necessary.

Separation Procedure: After all sections are linked up you have to go to the landed ships for the SS and give the TS a command. It will split off and follow your orders. Now, Press Esc then "L" you should see the landed ships for the TS so give the BS a command then it will split off as well. If you try the change ships command the shields will drop on the section you change to. (Shuttle craft dock works normally)

To repair major hull damage fly in to the drydock manually with out docking. Then use the transporter or a shuttle craft to board the Drydock. Switch to the desired turret and equip repair lasers via the laser icon. Target the damaged ship and fire until the hull is fully repaired.

I can not grantee that my ships will be compatible with the other mod's out there. To be safe you should never combine mod's unless they are said to be compatible with each other.

Most of the ships from Trek Meshes have a high Polly count and I can not find a poly cruncher plugin for Gmax. So, this means you'll need a faster computer to engage these ships in a large skirmish of several M1/M2.

My PC:
Procesor Chip = 2.4 GH Intel/Pentium 4 with a 800 MH bus
Ram = 1.0 GB
Video Accelerator = Radeon 9600 with 256 MB ram

It looks very nice... but I'm wondering if you could post more detailed images... It appears from the one that you posted that the texturing on the models is.. questionable. Is this just my eyes?

No your correct, this was all done with Gmax so the Texturing is not perfect. :P

Hi all,

So, no problems with the Download links?

B.T.W. You need to download and install all three sections to make up the USS Prometheus. I think that some of you may have only downloaded the Saucer Section. Because the Saucer Section has been downloaded about 20 times more then the other two sections.

because the USS Prometheus was designed to have the ability to split into 3 sections for its multivector assult mode, to allow it to better combat enemy ships.

I originally wanted to make the Enterprise D able to separate but the USS Prometheus was designed to separate for combat. So why not make it for X3 the same way? :D

Very nice Kris, I managed to try it out last night and the docking between the three ship pieces works very well. That's one less ship for me to have to think about making...

So which ship comes next? :D

Hey MM,

I would like to thank you for the huge help you have been to me! I don't know if I could of done this with out the guidance you provided.

Well, I would like to get DS9 working better and retexture the Dominion Battleship. Then maybe a couple variations of the Enterprise NX-01.

Much more updated with new texturing, I added fighter docks and the sections now kick away when undocking. 8)

I'm sure you've herd this before but before uninstalling a ship you must first destroy all entries of that ship in your game and save or ells after the uninstall you'll get the dreaded corrupt game file.

I would say onward to the Enterprise D after looking at this beauty. Might not be as compbat capable as this ship, but it is the Galaxy class ship that we all love.

BTW, has anyone done the Sovereign class yet? This thread made me think about it all of a sudden :D

I can't use it it's bloody confusing.

Which program can use .dds file extensions?
I tried with gmax and it didn't work haven't tried to use the ship creator though.

I made the Saucer Section a little faster then the other two so that it could catch up to them. It go's about 240 with 6 turrets holding PPC's or Kyon's. It has 8 shuttle pod docks and a M2 dock for the Top Section. I think I gave it 10 or 12 GJ shielding. The other two sections are not as fast and don't have as much shielding or weaponry.

I tried Gmax about a year ago and failed to get anything working right. This time however I found many helpful tutorials in the stickies. Plus I had allot of help from the X community. When I got to the texturing I could not find any tutorials for Gmax. But with MM's help I found a work around to get the .dds textures applied to a mesh. Since there was no existing tutorial I wrote one Here

I wonder if the docking of parts of this ship could be streamlined by using commands similar to the ones used by the Kha'ak clusters.
There's a script for giving the player access to them:

ive been thinking about that my self...also Kris...would the Miranda class (and her variants) be in the works? I really like the Soyuze class one...hehehe
