i would love a version that only leaves the largest of the rocks (mode 3?) but to do it to the whole universe in one go

Is there any way to use this script withought needing to open the script editor ?
I happen to be one of the few people that can resist, as long as its not open
as soon as the script editor opens, i cheat my way to shelfing the game...

All unsigned scripts need the script editor to be enabled to work so no, there is no way to run this without activating the script editor.

not true to the all scripts need the editor to be active, Cycrows script installer means you dont have to activate it yourself

AFAIK Cycrow's script installer does not have a way to activate the script editor, so you need to do it manually.

AFAIK, if the script filename starts with '!', then the game will load it even without explicit activation of the editor. However, the script must have a setup function of some kind that is automatically ran on load, and that function has to add a command/hotkey into some menu. You need that to execute the "real" script in-game.
See that for an example.

Remove Rocks From Sector
Mode 4 : This removes every single rock in the universe - WARNING! this will lock up the game almost completely for several minutes. While the script is running the autopilot X will appear on your hud. Wait for this to disappear. When you select this mode simply select any sector.
[EDIT 09/09/06] do not enter a null sector. |
Hi, Just tryed this, works like a dream and with no lockups good job.

i am running a lot of scripts, and this is the only one i have had to activate the script editor for, that is what i was saying, normally if they are made in script installer form they do not need the editor active

The fact that you install them with the script installer has nothing to do with the script editor being automatically activated, as jlethtone said this depends on how the script is written, not on the tool used to install or package it. If a script name starts with ! it will be automatically loaded, otherwise you need to manually activate it in the script editor but the script installer hasno role in this.

I followed your instructions precisely and YES the script did remove all the rocks in Kingdom End. However, I was offered only two Modes, 1 and 2 and therefore couldn't easily remove all the rocks in the universe. Any ideas?

There is not that much that can go wrong. Just give it a 4 as input mode select a valid sector (not null) and let it run.

It seems inputting a "4" worked! Thanks for a great script; I got tired of running into rocks when I docked at stations in Kingdom End particulary.
